Get the Most out of the 🌑 Eclipse Season ☀️ With Crystals

Hibiscus Moon astronomy, Crystals, energy work 8 Comments

Today we are talking about getting the most out of the eclipse season with crystals! During an eclipse, the sun, the moon and the earth are in perfect alignment. Now we don’t usually get an eclipse every time we have a full moon or new moon. During eclipse season, when we get the three celestial bodies, the sun, moon and earth, in perfect alignment their various types of cosmic energies become aligned or stacked. When that happens, they magnify and amplify each other.

In physics, we call this the principle of superposition. That’s when similar energies easily come into alignment and when they do that, they amplify each other.

A lot of people are sensitive to these types of energetic shifts and can feel them easily. Especially if you’re an empath, Reiki healer, or you do energy work of any kind. So let me ask you…are you feeling it ramping up? If not, you may start to as we get a little bit closer!

Now, eclipses usually happen in pairs, but this time it’s not going to happen that way. We had our first eclipse pair of 2018 last eclipse season (January – February). Now we’re headed into our final season for 2018, so after this eclipse season we’re done with eclipses for 2018. Eclipses usually occur, like I said, as a solar and a lunar, so the energies are balanced, right? The time in between is a little funky but the energies get balanced by the two eclipses.

Well this time is a trio! It’s actually going to be a sandwiching trio. The lunar eclipse is in the middle and then we have a solar eclipse on either end, so the energy may get a bit wacky. Also, they’re going to be two weeks apart. You’ll barely have time to integrate the energies and recalibrate before the next one hits us. However, we have tools and support within the crystals and other modalities that can help us get us through this type of situation. It’s about riding the energy, not letting the energy wave ride you and topple you all over the place.
The First Eclipse
The first eclipse will be July 13th and it’s a partial solar eclipse. None of these eclipses are going to be like our August eclipse from last Summer where it was an amazing event and most of North America was able to go on a road trip if they wanted to see it. However, the energies are still heightened, and it doesn’t matter if you’re not in a place where you can visually see the eclipse. Just like every full moon or new moon, no matter where you are on the planet we’re all affected by the energies.

It’s about working with the energy of the new moon. This is a time for planting seeds for upcoming plans, setting new intentions, enhanced and amplified intuition. It’s a very yin, feminine, intuitive, right-brained kind of energy. Just like any new moon is. We don’t actually see the moon during a new moon at all though right? This is about the solar, but it’s a new moon event.

Because of that, my favorite crystals to work with during this time are Labradorite, which is closely related to Moonstone. It has that similar blue flash and that iridescent quality. Labradorite is all about tapping into magic, but it’s also quite protective. If you’re feeling like you need some protective vibrational frequencies during this new moon event, then try working with Labradorite!

The other crystal that I like working with during this time is Indigo Gabbro. It’s also known as Mystic Merlinite, but what happens is while Indigo Gabbro can be purchased relatively affordably, when you call it Mystic Merlinite, for some reason the price goes up. So, look for Indigo Gabbro, it’s gorgeous. It’s relatively new in terms of when it was discovered. Currently it’s only found (as far as we know), on the island of Madagascar. It’s this black stone with a large gray mottling, and if you take it out in the sun you’ll actually see some iridescence in the gray mottling.
The Second Eclipse
Let’s talk about the July 27th lunar eclipse. This is the one that’s sandwiched between the two solar eclipses. It is a total lunar eclipse. Which happens when our Earth moves in between the sun and the moon, blocking the reflection of the sun’s rays.

We’re going to have this total lunar eclipse on July 27th, but if you’re in North America we’re not going to see it because it’s happening in the middle of our daylight hours, but the moon is going to pass directly through the Earth’s shadow, so it’s going to be obscured. It’s not going to go away completely. It’ll have kind of a reddish tint to it from the shadow. That happens when some of the sunlight comes around and hits it and it looks really, really cool if you’re in a place on the planet where you’re going to be able to see it.

The energies of a lunar eclipse are the same as a really powerful full moon. It’s a very high amplitude kind of energy. However, specifically for this total lunar eclipse I’m going to advise you to look at the plans you make and think about them, but don’t take any action. Don’t make any changes. No new anything. Try to just evaluate any necessary changes for the next cycle because you want to keep in mind, we’re going to be smack dab in the middle of Mercury retrograde during this total lunar eclipse and this crazy eclipse season.

Lunar eclipses in general are good energy that bring about change. Don’t you go initiating any of your own changes or own big plans or big contracts because this is a time when it’s important to let things happen as they will. Be grateful for whatever lessons you learned during the last lunar cycle or for whatever intentions and seeds you planted that did come to fruition.
Eclipse Season Crystals
Moonstone

The first crystal, you may have guessed, is Moonstone. It can be any kind of Moonstone, peach, rainbow, it doesn’t have to be a white Moonstone. Any of them are great for working with lunar energy in any moon phase, actually. Moonstone promotes goddess energy, divination, feminine energy, and that makes sense because the moon is known for goddess feminine energy, right? It also has a connection to water. It’s a great stone to work with for allowing you to more efficiently tap into your intuition.
Opal

Another crystal that I like to work with at this time is Opal. This particular crystal has such a pretty iridescence. Opal really helps to align us with lunar energy and watery energy, it’s about purification.

It actually contains molecules of water within it. If you live in a very dry climate or you’ve stored it for a very, very long time, it can end up drying out. If you notice your Opal has lost its iridescence, you’ll want to put it in a plastic bag with a cotton ball and a few drop of water. Wrap it up in that cotton, close up the bag, and it will rehydrate itself!
Selenite

The next crystal that I like for total lunar eclipse energy is Selenite. It embodies goddess energy and it’s a crystal that allows us to more easily communicate with our higher selves.
The Third Eclipse
Now let’s talk about the last eclipse in the season, and that’s the one happening on August 11th which is also during that Mercury retrograde period. It’s another partial solar eclipse. The last eclipse is taking place two weeks after the total lunar eclipse. With the moon having moved halfway around its orbit, (and again it’s a new moon again) we’ll be right back where we started. The other partial solar eclipse taking place, will be the total opposite of that FIRST partial solar eclipse. It’s also important to note this one will be extreme northern latitude.

In terms of cosmic energy it’s going to be similar to the July 13th eclipse, except that you’re now in Mercury retrograde. Which means you’ll need to be a bit more careful. Be mindful of not starting anything new, just reviewing, reviewing, and extra reviewing.
Working With Crystals 🔮
When I say, “work with the crystals,” I like to give specifics of what that actually looks like. I’d also like to leave you with some examples of how you can work with these crystals. There are loads of ways to do so, you could simply meditate with the crystals…or, like we said before, that contemplation time during the Mercury retrograde eclipses, you can just sit with the crystal while you’re contemplating, it helps to entrain your energy field. You can create and work with an eclipse intention crystal grid or consider creating a specific crystal grid while using those crystals within your grid.

Some people also sit outside during the eclipse event. Again, even though you can’t see it, you’re sensing the energies and you’re even more connected with them when you’re sitting out within Mother Nature. I did this during the total solar eclipse and it was such a powerful thing. You can just sit directly on the Earth to activate and attune to the energies between yourself, the crystal, and the eclipse.

Next you could put together an eclipse energy mojo kit, and include several crystals in a little pouch to carry around with you. Be careful when you’re carrying them around because they tend to hit each other. You want to be gentle with them so that you’re not causing any damage to the crystals themselves.

You can also take an eclipse energy bath, and add some drops of jasmine essential oil because jasmine is very closely related to lunar energies. It carries intense new and full moon frequencies, so it’s good for any of these eclipses.

Keep in mind that Selenite is the only crystal listed above that shouldn’t go in water.  People freak out and think that it’s going to melt if you put it in water. It’s not going to melt. It’s not going anywhere. If you submerge Selenite in water for a long period of time it will start to become dull. This is because it becomes water soluble over a long period of time.

Hope you enjoyed the blog thank you so much for following along today!

Let’s make DIY Crystal 💎🔮 Infused Vibrational Perfumes

Hibiscus Moon Videos 16 Comments

So, let’s dive into creating our own High Vibrational Crystal Infused Essential Oil Perfume!

These sorts of perfumes are great because they’re:

  • holistic
  • all-natural
  • non-toxic (actually helping your body to detox and get healthier if you’re using the right kind of essential oils in them~!)
  • while also gently entraining your vibrational frequency

And, you’re gonna fall in love ♥ with how EASY this is!

CAUTION: Essential oils are super-potent and need to be diluted in a carrier oil like jojoba or fractionated coconut oil before applying them to the skin. DO NOT USE with elderly folk, pets, pregnant mamas or young children. If you have sensitive skin, you’ll want to stick to the recipe as given or maybe even dilute it even further. I’ve experimented with this recipe quite a bit. I now leave out all but a small bitty amount of the fractionated coconut oil for a more potent scent because my skin can take it. You’ll have to play with it and see what works best for you.

The first blend I go over in the above video is one that I’ve been making and wearing for over a year now.  🙂 I just love this particular combo of oils and crystals as an everyday vibrational essence.  It’s quite lemony, very fresh and also very calming with the lavender. Then it also includes just a couple drops of Frankincense to really bring the frequency up to the next level.

[thrive_2step id='21844'][/thrive_2step]

Tap into the Energies
The crystal chips I include are from those little bottles that you may find in your local metaphysical and craft stores. I also had the bottles charging up on my altar for a few days before using them in this essential oil perfume.

You may have noticed in the above video I used an ingenious little rose quartz gemstone roller bottle. I looooove how the gemstone roller adds that extra layer of feminine and divine goddess high vibey energy, allowing you to roll it right over the skin.

I got my bottle from this Etsy shop.

Additionally, you can take this whole exercise a step further and imbue your perfume with a special affirmation; words of intention, just like the late, great scientist and author, Dr. Emoto taught us by labeling your bottle with powerful words to infuse your perfume with that specific intention.

[caption id="attachment_20621" align="aligncenter" width="595"] That time I met the late great Dr. Emoto and we drank clear quartz gem elixir together. So grateful to this man and his work.[/caption]

If you know me, you know I like layering on the vibrational frequencies to amp it up another level, so yet another way to do that is to now bring in the corresponding oils.

The essential oils and specific high-quality fractionated coconut oil I used in the video are from doTERRA. If you’d like to learn more about why I chose doTERRA and how I use it as part of my abundant business model, click here.

Crystals for Autumn Equinox

Hibiscus Moon astronomy, gratefullness, Mother Earth 14 Comments

I REALLY LOVE this time of year! But I think I say that every time the seasons change. I get such a charge from the seasonal cycles.

The Autumn Equinox (or Spring Equinox for those in the Southern Hemi) is now upon us and for the purposes of this blog post I’m going to stick to the Autumn aspects, but if you’re from Down Under or just plain interested, you can read my classic blog post on Spring Equinox here.
Some Science, Of Course!
So, before I get to the crystals, a bit o’ science on the Equinox stuffs for a sec. I can’t help myself! This year’s Autumn (or Fall) Equinox lands on Friday, September 22.

There are 2 equinoxes each year; in September and March. Because of the tilt of our planet on our axis, we’re usually getting more sun on one hemisphere than on the other, but there are 2 times/year (Spring and Autumn Equinox) when we get pretty much equal amounts of sunlight on both hemi’s, so our night and day are of equal length everywhere on Mama Earth. So cool!

Autumn Equinox Energies

Balance Aspect: No matter where you are on planet, the equinoxes are all about balance & harmony, again this is b/c this is when we’re receiving equal amounts of sun & moon energy. Therefore, this is a great time to choose to focus on bringing balance into your life by aligning yourself to these energies at this time of year.

Preparation Aspect: As we take our annual vortex journey through our Solar System around our local star, the Sun, we flow through varying energies and the energy of Autumn or Fall is our time to do last-minute tweaks to any intentions or our manifestations we’ve had in the works for this entire year… before we go into our “hibernation zone” for the winter.

Winter is all about rest & cave time. Autumn has always represented harvest time with an eye towards prepping for going into our introspective hibernation time… so in the wintertime, we can focus on resting & renewing without being stressed out about simply surviving. We just had our September Harvest Moon; a time to reap the rewards of our hard work. In fact, the Autumn Equinox is the original time of our US Thanksgiving (giving thanks for the bountiful harvest) before it was changed to its current date for economic reasons.

You might be thinking to yourself right now…
“Hey! I’m no farmer and I’m not a squirrel or a bear… none of this applies to me!”
Yeah, what I’m talking about above is obviously so in nature and certainly applied to how we USED to live even just one hundred years ago… but not so much today. However, keep in mind, all this farmer talk can be applied figuratively to our everyday lives even if you don’t have your own ranch.  😉 If you really pay attention, you’ll note that your energy is leaning this way too. Feel into it. Am I right or am I right?

For me, this is a time of year to be grateful for all I have, reflect on my goals & check on the yield in all life areas. Are the results bountiful or lackluster? If you need to tweak some things, now’s the time to do it, before we go into winter (rest & reflection time). The energies themselves are balancing out; as we go from an intense time of growth and harvest to a time of preparing for quiet and retreating within.

Here’s the quick breakdown:

  • Time to reap the final harvest
  • Give thanks
  • Balance
  • Prepare for winter ahead: winter of the spirit, time to rest

Autumn Equinox Crystals for Balancing Aspects

  • Moonstone – embodies an enlightened female energy; soothing, moon energy, intuition enhancer
  • Sunstone – invites in enlightened male energy; abundance, solar energy, stone of leadership
  • Magnetite – aligns and balances energies + polarities

No matter where you are on planet, the equinoxes are all about balance and harmony so the stones I’ve listed above are the ones I like to work with at this time of year.  They are the ones that embody the balance between masculine and feminine energies, yin & yang, sun + moon, the 2 polarities. So, I like to use both moonstone and sunstone together to achieve this. The vibrational frequencies of these 2 stones together are PERFECT for reminding us to stay balanced in all aspects of our lives.  Then you can add magnetite to that mix to enhance even further while adding in a bit of grounding too.

You can also sneak in some Balance Essential Oil from doTERRA there too to further enhance these vibrational frequencies.

Autumn Equinox Crystals for Introspective/Preparatory Aspects
If you’d like to, instead (or additionally), focus on reviewing and preparing for the time ahead here are some crystals that incorporate the ideal energies for this:

  • Stilbite – introspection, preparing & inner peace
  • Tiger’s Eye – “the practical stone”, invites in practicality, introspection & discernment
  • Shamanic Dream Stone – this stone is also good for polarity balancing as well as for introspection

[caption id="attachment_19928" align="aligncenter" width="650"] Shamanic Dream Stone[/caption]
How to Work with the Energies
I’ll use these stones at my altar while meditating, within my sacred space or in a crystal grid to honor these energies.

Here are some ideas for you:

  • Include these stones on your altar or in your sacred space
  • Create an Autumn Equinox crystal grid
  • Do a crystal meditation
  • Drink a gem elixir tea
  • Indulge in an Autumn Equinox crystal bath
  • Bring your chakras into balance with a Full Chakra Balance session. I recommend doing a session like this 4 times a year; at each equinox and solstice for good energetic hygiene. You can do this yourself or dive deep for a real treat and have one done by a Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healer.

I hope you’re able to carve out some time to celebrate and prepare.  If you have your own ritual for calling in balance or working with a combo of crystals in your own sacred way to align with the Autumn Equinox energies please share in the comments below.  I always love to hear your ideas ❤

Happy Harvest and Many Crystal Blessings!

Top 4 Crystals to Work with Moon Energy

Hibiscus Moon moon, Videos 26 Comments

Let’s talk about crystals we can use to work with moon energy. Whether it be for the full moon, new moon or any phase of the moon.

Intention
I feel that when you’re working with different phases of the moon, it’s not so much about the specific crystals that you choose to work with, because there are several different ones, but more about your intention of working with that particular moon phase.

There are several crystals that have vibrational frequencies that align with the moon in general, no matter what phase the moon is in at that particular time. Which is great b/c it makes uncomplicated work of it.

Again, it doesn’t matter whether it’s full moon or new moon, what I feel is most important is that you be very clear on what your intentions are & that you align them with that particular phase of the moon.

Here’s a very general summary of those energies…
Full Moon Energy

  • It’s a time when you reap what you’ve sown.
  • It’s when you’re grateful for whatever lessons you’ve learned in last moon’s cycle, or for whatever intentions and seeds that you planted that actually came to fruition.
  • It’s about completion.
  • Yang energy.

New Moon Energy

  • A time to plant seeds and a time of new beginnings.
  • Starting and growing something new.
  • Great time to set intentions.
  • Yin energy.

** If you’d like to learn more about setting intentions with new moon energy, I created an earlier blog post on setting intentions at the New Moon over here. And if you’d like some tips on working with the Full Moon & Your Crystals head over here. **

The crystals I’m recommending here resonate very strongly with moon energy at all phases.
My Crystal Recommendations for working with Moon Energy

1.  Selenite
Selenite is a beautiful crystal that actually has a sort of iridescence or sheen to it that reminds us very much of the moon.  It’s got that tell-tale moon beam glow.

Selenite embodies goddess energy, and it’s a crystal that allows us to more easily communicate with our higher selves.

Selenite often comes in many different forms.  It can be polished, like a heart or a palm stone, or shaped into a wand. Sometimes you will see the natural selenite towers, which come in a range of sizes from small to large.

You may have even heard about this beautiful, magical selenite crystal cave in Mexico.  Have you heard of it?   It’s called the Cave of Giants, where these huge selenite, (actually, gypsum; gypsum is selenite) humongous crystals have grown.

It’s not a place we can visit. No, not a place we can go.  Too dangerous. It’s very difficult for even the geologists to go down there, but it’s just so magical to even think about and even know that a place like that exists on mama earth!  Ya know?

It’s like the fortress of solitude that Superman went to while growing up and he learned all his stuff and all his knowledge and connected with his higher self. 😉
2.  Moonstone
The next crystal for working with moon energy may come as no surprise to you, it’s moonstone.  I have a moonstone, that I show you in the video, that  just so happens to be carved into a sphere, so it looks very much like Luna herself.

It doesn’t need to be white moonstone, it can be any kind of moonstone, there’s even peach or black moonstone.

Some of them will have a  flashy iridescence to them that you can see in certain light which is quite beautiful.

[caption id="attachment_3212" align="aligncenter" width="600"] moonstone tumbled stones[/caption]

Any kind of moonstone is great for working with lunar energy at any moon phase.

It’s all about goddess and feminine energy. Makes sense b/c the moon itself is actually known to embody that goddess feminine energy.

Moonstone is also great for allowing you to more efficiently tap into your intuition.

It’s also about mystery.  So, if you’re looking to align with that while working with certain lunar cycles, then you’ll want to work with moonstone.
3.  Labradorite

Labradorite is another great choice to work with moon energy.  It’s actually closely related to moonstone and it has that similar flash; a blue flash that you get in certain light, that iridescent quality again.

Labradorite is all about tapping into magic.  Plus it’s also quite protective.  If you’re feeling like you need some protective vibrational frequencies during a certain phase of the moon, then go ahead and try working with labradorite.
4.  Opal
[caption id="attachment_17942" align="aligncenter" width="428"] Rob Lavinsky, iRocks.com – CC-BY-SA-3.0 [CC BY-SA 3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0)], via Wikimedia Commons[/caption]The moon is also known for having a vibrational connection to the element of water.

And another stone that we can work with to more closely align ourselves with that type of lunar energy is opal.

Opal allows us to align with that water energy so it’s also about purification.

Any type of true authentic opal will do, it doesn’t need to be white precious opal either. There are many different kinds.

Just don’t reach for opalite as a replacement, b/c that is a man-made “stone” & will not deliver the same kind of energy at all (which I talk about in this blog post.).

Well, I hope you like my picks for working with moon energy, Crystal Hottie!

Do you have certain stones you like to use for  the waning / new moon & during the waxing / full moon?  Are your go-to stones included in my list?

I’d love to hear about the crystal connections you’ve made @ different moon phases.  Share with us in the comments below!
