Get the Most out of the 🌑 Eclipse Season ☀️ With Crystals

Hibiscus Moon astronomy, Crystals, energy work 8 Comments

Today we are talking about getting the most out of the eclipse season with crystals! During an eclipse, the sun, the moon and the earth are in perfect alignment. Now we don’t usually get an eclipse every time we have a full moon or new moon. During eclipse season, when we get the three celestial bodies, the sun, moon and earth, in perfect alignment their various types of cosmic energies become aligned or stacked. When that happens, they magnify and amplify each other.

In physics, we call this the principle of superposition. That’s when similar energies easily come into alignment and when they do that, they amplify each other.

A lot of people are sensitive to these types of energetic shifts and can feel them easily. Especially if you’re an empath, Reiki healer, or you do energy work of any kind. So let me ask you…are you feeling it ramping up? If not, you may start to as we get a little bit closer!

Now, eclipses usually happen in pairs, but this time it’s not going to happen that way. We had our first eclipse pair of 2018 last eclipse season (January – February). Now we’re headed into our final season for 2018, so after this eclipse season we’re done with eclipses for 2018. Eclipses usually occur, like I said, as a solar and a lunar, so the energies are balanced, right? The time in between is a little funky but the energies get balanced by the two eclipses.

Well this time is a trio! It’s actually going to be a sandwiching trio. The lunar eclipse is in the middle and then we have a solar eclipse on either end, so the energy may get a bit wacky. Also, they’re going to be two weeks apart. You’ll barely have time to integrate the energies and recalibrate before the next one hits us. However, we have tools and support within the crystals and other modalities that can help us get us through this type of situation. It’s about riding the energy, not letting the energy wave ride you and topple you all over the place.
The First Eclipse
The first eclipse will be July 13th and it’s a partial solar eclipse. None of these eclipses are going to be like our August eclipse from last Summer where it was an amazing event and most of North America was able to go on a road trip if they wanted to see it. However, the energies are still heightened, and it doesn’t matter if you’re not in a place where you can visually see the eclipse. Just like every full moon or new moon, no matter where you are on the planet we’re all affected by the energies.

It’s about working with the energy of the new moon. This is a time for planting seeds for upcoming plans, setting new intentions, enhanced and amplified intuition. It’s a very yin, feminine, intuitive, right-brained kind of energy. Just like any new moon is. We don’t actually see the moon during a new moon at all though right? This is about the solar, but it’s a new moon event.

Because of that, my favorite crystals to work with during this time are Labradorite, which is closely related to Moonstone. It has that similar blue flash and that iridescent quality. Labradorite is all about tapping into magic, but it’s also quite protective. If you’re feeling like you need some protective vibrational frequencies during this new moon event, then try working with Labradorite!

The other crystal that I like working with during this time is Indigo Gabbro. It’s also known as Mystic Merlinite, but what happens is while Indigo Gabbro can be purchased relatively affordably, when you call it Mystic Merlinite, for some reason the price goes up. So, look for Indigo Gabbro, it’s gorgeous. It’s relatively new in terms of when it was discovered. Currently it’s only found (as far as we know), on the island of Madagascar. It’s this black stone with a large gray mottling, and if you take it out in the sun you’ll actually see some iridescence in the gray mottling.
The Second Eclipse
Let’s talk about the July 27th lunar eclipse. This is the one that’s sandwiched between the two solar eclipses. It is a total lunar eclipse. Which happens when our Earth moves in between the sun and the moon, blocking the reflection of the sun’s rays.

We’re going to have this total lunar eclipse on July 27th, but if you’re in North America we’re not going to see it because it’s happening in the middle of our daylight hours, but the moon is going to pass directly through the Earth’s shadow, so it’s going to be obscured. It’s not going to go away completely. It’ll have kind of a reddish tint to it from the shadow. That happens when some of the sunlight comes around and hits it and it looks really, really cool if you’re in a place on the planet where you’re going to be able to see it.

The energies of a lunar eclipse are the same as a really powerful full moon. It’s a very high amplitude kind of energy. However, specifically for this total lunar eclipse I’m going to advise you to look at the plans you make and think about them, but don’t take any action. Don’t make any changes. No new anything. Try to just evaluate any necessary changes for the next cycle because you want to keep in mind, we’re going to be smack dab in the middle of Mercury retrograde during this total lunar eclipse and this crazy eclipse season.

Lunar eclipses in general are good energy that bring about change. Don’t you go initiating any of your own changes or own big plans or big contracts because this is a time when it’s important to let things happen as they will. Be grateful for whatever lessons you learned during the last lunar cycle or for whatever intentions and seeds you planted that did come to fruition.
Eclipse Season Crystals
Moonstone

The first crystal, you may have guessed, is Moonstone. It can be any kind of Moonstone, peach, rainbow, it doesn’t have to be a white Moonstone. Any of them are great for working with lunar energy in any moon phase, actually. Moonstone promotes goddess energy, divination, feminine energy, and that makes sense because the moon is known for goddess feminine energy, right? It also has a connection to water. It’s a great stone to work with for allowing you to more efficiently tap into your intuition.
Opal

Another crystal that I like to work with at this time is Opal. This particular crystal has such a pretty iridescence. Opal really helps to align us with lunar energy and watery energy, it’s about purification.

It actually contains molecules of water within it. If you live in a very dry climate or you’ve stored it for a very, very long time, it can end up drying out. If you notice your Opal has lost its iridescence, you’ll want to put it in a plastic bag with a cotton ball and a few drop of water. Wrap it up in that cotton, close up the bag, and it will rehydrate itself!
Selenite

The next crystal that I like for total lunar eclipse energy is Selenite. It embodies goddess energy and it’s a crystal that allows us to more easily communicate with our higher selves.
The Third Eclipse
Now let’s talk about the last eclipse in the season, and that’s the one happening on August 11th which is also during that Mercury retrograde period. It’s another partial solar eclipse. The last eclipse is taking place two weeks after the total lunar eclipse. With the moon having moved halfway around its orbit, (and again it’s a new moon again) we’ll be right back where we started. The other partial solar eclipse taking place, will be the total opposite of that FIRST partial solar eclipse. It’s also important to note this one will be extreme northern latitude.

In terms of cosmic energy it’s going to be similar to the July 13th eclipse, except that you’re now in Mercury retrograde. Which means you’ll need to be a bit more careful. Be mindful of not starting anything new, just reviewing, reviewing, and extra reviewing.
Working With Crystals 🔮
When I say, “work with the crystals,” I like to give specifics of what that actually looks like. I’d also like to leave you with some examples of how you can work with these crystals. There are loads of ways to do so, you could simply meditate with the crystals…or, like we said before, that contemplation time during the Mercury retrograde eclipses, you can just sit with the crystal while you’re contemplating, it helps to entrain your energy field. You can create and work with an eclipse intention crystal grid or consider creating a specific crystal grid while using those crystals within your grid.

Some people also sit outside during the eclipse event. Again, even though you can’t see it, you’re sensing the energies and you’re even more connected with them when you’re sitting out within Mother Nature. I did this during the total solar eclipse and it was such a powerful thing. You can just sit directly on the Earth to activate and attune to the energies between yourself, the crystal, and the eclipse.

Next you could put together an eclipse energy mojo kit, and include several crystals in a little pouch to carry around with you. Be careful when you’re carrying them around because they tend to hit each other. You want to be gentle with them so that you’re not causing any damage to the crystals themselves.

You can also take an eclipse energy bath, and add some drops of jasmine essential oil because jasmine is very closely related to lunar energies. It carries intense new and full moon frequencies, so it’s good for any of these eclipses.

Keep in mind that Selenite is the only crystal listed above that shouldn’t go in water.  People freak out and think that it’s going to melt if you put it in water. It’s not going to melt. It’s not going anywhere. If you submerge Selenite in water for a long period of time it will start to become dull. This is because it becomes water soluble over a long period of time.

Hope you enjoyed the blog thank you so much for following along today!

Crystals + 2014 Eclipse Energies

Hibiscus Moon moon 3 Comments

OK, time to do an updated lunar eclipse and crystals post for 2014 & just in time for our 1st eclipse in April. If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I love to ride our cosmic local Solar System energies. I also LOVE to layer various types of similar vibrational frequencies together for lovely harmony…and that, of course, includes crystals!
Big eclipses, Big letting go…Exciting stuffs!
What makes the upcoming eclipses really exciting is that most of these eclipses will be visible form North America (bit selfish, I know).

So the party gets started on April 15th for a spectacular midnight eclipse! As, I’ve mentioned before eclipse usually occur in pairs of lunar & solar. This year’s set is known as a lunar eclipse tetrad; a series of 4 consecutive real-deal full eclipses occurring about 6 months apart (some of these flowing into 2015). I say real-deal, b/c these aren’t partial eclipse but the FULL-ON ENERGY. So put your seat belts on. And…the really unique thing is that with this tetrad; all visible somewhere in the US.
Upcoming Eclipses
Here’s what’s on tap for our 2014 eclipses (click on links to see NASA maps showing where on Mama Earth the eclipse will be visible):

  • 2014 Apr 15: Total Lunar Eclipse – Lunar eclipse happens when our Mother Earth moves in between the Sun & the Moon & blocks the reflection of the Sun’s [caption id="attachment_3212" align="alignright" width="300"] moonstone[/caption]

light on the moon with Mama Earth’s shadow. I feel the energies of a Lunar Eclipse are the same as a really powerful Full Moon. High amplitude, no doubt. For me, the Full Moon is a time to be grateful for what the last lunar cycle has brought about & to take a look at my plans & evaluate any necessary changes for the next cycle. Lunar Eclipses are a good energy to bring about change Crystals to Work with: moonstone, fluorite, selenite

  • 2014 Apr 29: Annular Solar Eclipse – This type of eclipse happens when the Moon is a wee bit closer to the Sun leaving a bright ring of light around the Moon (the corona). Solar eclipses can only appear during a new [caption id="attachment_13051" align="alignright" width="408"] My stellar beam calcite[/caption]

moon & in the day time. This means that you are working with new moon energy (this is said to be great for BIG TIME cleansing, purging, ending things & letting go). Good time to clean out closets & such. This sort of eclipse has less amplitude than a Total Solar Eclipse. If you feel good about that then work with it & give it a go. Click on the link for a NASA map of where you need to be to see this event. Crystals to Work with: herkimer diamond, sunstone, citrine, stellar beam calcite

  • 2014 Oct 08: Total Lunar Eclipse – same as above
  • 2014 Oct 23: Partial Solar Eclipse – In this type of solar eclipse, the Moon only partly covers the Sun as seen from Mama Earth. So, the energy from this event is the same as an Annular Solar Eclipse (see above)

For a little more of a science lesson on the eclipses & working with their energy please take a look at my older blog post here. I also explain in that post why I’m leery to work with Solar Eclipses. However, I ♥ to work with Lunar eclipse energy since it can make for some supremely special edition gem elixirs difficult to replicate!

And no worries if you can’t visibly view some or any of these eclipses due to where you are on Mama Earth at that time…it’s not necessary to SEE the eclipse for its energy to still affect you. 🙂
Here are just a few ways I like to work with the Lunar Eclipse and Crystals:

  • Concoct special Gem Elixir blends
  • Crystal Grids
  • Program a special quartz crystal
  • Put together a lunar energy crystal mojo kit

Are you planning on working with the Eclipse Energies of any sort? I’d all love to hear what you’re up to so please comment below. 🙂

Crystals + 2013 Eclipse Energies

Hibiscus Moon energy work 5 Comments

OK, time to do an updated eclipse post for 2013. I already let 1 lunar eclipse slip past us so time to get on it! And we can totally use crystals in tandem with these eclipse energies (I prefer to stay safe & just stick with the lunar energies on this as I’ll explain in a bit here).

[caption id="attachment_10175" align="aligncenter" width="548"] Solar eclipse during totality. Photo credit: Luc Viatour / www.Lucnix.be[/caption]

We still have 4 upcoming eclipses in 2013 to look  forward to. Those of you that have been following me for a while know that I love to ride those cosmic Mama Earth energies & I also like to layer various types of energies together of similar frequency…enter the crystals!
So here’s the 2013 Upcoming Eclipse Tour Dates:

2013 May 10: Annular Solar Eclipse – This type of eclipse happens when the Moon is a wee bit closer to the Sun leaving a bright ring of light around the Moon (the corona). Solar eclipses can only appear during a new moon & in the day time. This means that you are working with new moon energy (this is said to be great for BIG cleansings, purging, ending things & letting go).

[caption id="attachment_7607" align="alignleft" width="400"] citrine druse[/caption]

2013 May 25: Penumbral Lunar Eclipse – much like a Partial Lunar Eclipse but has some unobservable differences (points of contact) & not too striking to look at, but the slight energy boost is there none the less. I view any sort of Lunar eclipse as a really powerful Full Moon! High amplitude, no doubt. For me, the Full Moon is a time to be grateful for what the last lunar cycle has brought about & to take a look at my plans & evaluate any necessary changes for the next cycle. Lunar Eclipses are a good energy to bring about change. (Click above for NASA maps) Crystals to Work with: moonstone, fluorite, selenite

[caption id="attachment_3212" align="aligncenter" width="400"] moonstone[/caption]

2013 Oct 18: Penumbral Lunar Eclipse – same as above

2013 Nov 03: Hybrid Solar Eclipse – this event is a cross between an Annual Solar Eclipse & a Total Solar Eclipse. This happens b/c the Moon’s shadow touches upon Earth’s surface at some points, but falls short others. Yeah, this is mega-powerful energy here! Lots of banishing energy. Again, I feel the energy is too loco for my liking so I just appreciate & notice.

If you’re on the East Coast of the US, you may have a view of a partial solar eclipse early Sunday morning. Go here to find out how it will look in your area or if you’ll be able to view it & what time.

Click here for Eye Safety tips during a Solar Eclipse.

Think of it…the Sun, the Moon & the Earth are in perfect alignment with each other. The energies are STACKED, Baby! (Click above for NASA map) Crystals to Work with: sunstone, citrine, pyrite, sulfur

[caption id="attachment_2600" align="aligncenter" width="400"] Sunstone aka oligoclase. Photo by Ra’ike[/caption]

And no worries if you can’t visibly view some or any of these eclipses…its not necessary for its energy to still be able to affect you. Which is great, b/c its very difficult to catch an eclipse, especially a Solar one! The effects of eclipse energy on us has even been scientifically tested. (Click on that only if you’re GEEKY!)

But we don’t need all that scientific mumbo-jumbo, do we? When you’re in-tune w/ Mama Earth you can just FEEEEL it. If you’re not feeling it…that may be because you need to get out there, barefoot on the Earth & get grounded & connected.

Just as I teach with crystals, any energy that is High Amplitude (meaning it carries a whopping lot of energy) can interfere with the dominant osciallary rate (average vibratory rate) of an object or being. So does an eclipse qualify as High Amp? I give that a big HELL YEAH!

With me so far?

Since I don’t feel confidant working with the super-HIGH magnitude energy of a Total Solar Eclipse (I don’t think I’ll ever be messing around with that) I pretty much leave that be & just honor & respect by watching from afar.

I do, however, like to work with Lunar eclipse energy since those can make for some supremely special edition potions difficult to replicate!

Here are just a few things I like to do/create for a Lunar Eclipse:

  • Concoct special Gem Elixir blends
  • Crystal Grids
  • Program a special crystal

Does an Eclipse Effect Energy?

Hibiscus Moon astrology, astronomy, cleansing, Crystal Healing, Crystals, energy work, Gem Elixirs, moon, Mother Earth 10 Comments

You betchya!

Four eclipses on the horizon for 2012. Those of you that have been following me for a while know that I love to ride those Mother Earth energies like a Bonsai Pipeline! And I like to use the energies of crystals right along with it whenever I can.

Eclipses harbor powerful energy that intertwine with Mother Earth’s Grid (I explain more about this grid in my little book; Crystal Grids).

You don’t need to be able to visibly see an  eclipse for its energy to be able to affect you. And that’s a good thing too b/c its very difficult to catch an eclipse, especially a Solar one! But the effects of its energy on us has even been tested by many a scientist. Of course, they have yet to come to a decisive conclusion, but we don’t need no steeeeenkin’ scientific conclusion. We know! When you’re in-tune w/ Mother Earth you can just feel this stuffs. Right?

Just as I teach with crystals, if an energy is High Amplitude (meaning it carries a whopping lot of energy) it can mess with the base frequency of an object. I classify an eclipse as a high amp event which can leave an imprint in Mother Earth’s grid which can, in turn,  influence us. Make sense?

Since I don’t feel expert at working with energy on the magnitude of a Total Solar Eclipse (don’t know if I ever will) I don’t like to do too much messing around with it. I’m good with simply acknowledging & respecting it.

I will work with Lunar eclipses & such when creating certain special Gem Elixir blends. Those make for some supremely special edition potions difficult to replicate!
So what’s on tap for 2012?

  • May 20: Annular Solar Eclipse– This eclipse happens when the Moon is a tad closer to the Sun leaving a bright ring of  Sun around the Moon.  Solar eclipses can only appear  during a new moon & in the day time, of course. This means that you are working with new moon energy (great for cleansing, purging, ending things & letting go). Good time to clean out closets & such. Less amplitude than a Total Solar Eclipse. Click here for a NASA map of where you need to be to see this event. Crystals to Work with: herkimer diamond & citrine, stellar beam calcite
[caption id="attachment_3206" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Annular Eclipse. Photo Credit: sancho_panza[/caption]
  • Jun 04: Partial Lunar Eclipse– I view Lunar eclipses as a really powerful Full Moon. Since this is a partial eclipse its less so, but a powerful Full Moon none the less. High amplitude, no doubt. For me, the Full Moon is a time to be grateful for what the last lunar cycle has brought about & to look to plans & changes for the next cycle. Lunar Eclipses are a good energy to bring about change. Any course corrections necessary for the next cycle? Just contemplating that. I no longer put my crystals out under Lunar Eclipse energy. I feel its just too wonky.  (Click here for NASA maps) Crystals to Work with: moonstone, fluorite
  • Nov 13: Total Solar Eclipse- this is  mega-powerful energy here! Whoa…lots of banishing energy. Personally, I feel the energy is too wild for my liking so I just appreciate it & notice. Think of it…the Sun, the Moon & the Earth are in perfect alignment. The energies are STACKED! Very powerful stuff and something that I don’t feel comfortable messing around with myself.  I’ll just stand back & watch thank you very much! (Click here for NASA map)

[caption id="attachment_3211" align="aligncenter" width="256"] Alignment of a Total Solar Eclipse. Image credit: NASA[/caption]

  • Nov 28: Penumbral Lunar Eclipse– this one is like a partial lunar eclipse but has some unobservable differences (points of contact) & not too striking to look at, but the slight energy difference is there none the less. Again, this is good energy to bring about change & to look for course-corrections. (Click here for NASA maps) This is a great opportunity to make some powerful gem elixirs too!! Crystals to Work with: moonstone, fluorite
[caption id="attachment_3212" align="aligncenter" width="300"] moonstone[/caption]

Notice, the eclipses occur in pairs of solar with lunar? Balancing of energies. Just an interesting little tidbit.

So, how are you planning on working with the celestial energies? I’d love to hear about it, Crystal Hottie! Please share below!

Hang on for the RIDE! 🙂 Surf’s Up!
