Top Five Simple Ways to Use Your Crystals Every Day

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healing, Everyday/Personal Stuffs 11 Comments

Ancient peoples truly appreciated and put to good use the extraordinary healing properties of crystals. We can learn so much from them and apply their wisdom to our modern lives to inspire us to work with crystals every day.

Unfortunately, us mod-humans, have mostly pushed aside or just forgotten all about our effective ancient stone and mineral know-how.

The good news is that recently we’ve experienced quite the Rock Revival. Am I right? A total resurgence and re-interest in the energetic healing powers of crystals and stones. (I feel we’re simply REMEMBERING what worked well for us without the nasty side-effects of other possible “remedies.”)

Sneak Peek: One of my recommendations is daily crystal meditation. For a simple meditation, grab this free throat chakra meditation mp3 and drop into some quality time with you, your rocks and your breath.

First Some Interesting Crystal Healing History
Humans have used crystals for millennia for various healing and protective purposes.

We now have evidence regarding the earliest hominids that were working with crystal energy as early as about 40,000 years ago.

This is specific evidence of ancient human remains buried with jade-looking (chlorite) jewelry. Anthropologists gather that it was used for either healing or some sort of protection, like a talisman of some sort. So far, this is the earliest evidence of crystal healing to date.

Ancient civilizations have also been documenting the use of working with stones or laying on of stones; where they were placing them on the body for different modes of healing, protection and connecting with Mama Earth. We even have evidence of this documented in the Bible.

Right: Lapis lazuli used in “Ram in a Thicket”, from the Royal Tombs of Ur, Sumer, Ancient Mesopotamia, modern-day Iraq, c. 2600-2500 B.C.[/caption]

Yes, metaphysical powers of crystals were no mystery to most of our ancient cultures including:

  • Egyptians
  • Native North Americans
  • Chinese
  • Indians
  • South Americans
  • Australian Aborigines
  • Sumerians

… and many, many others regularly adorned their bodies with gemstone jewelry and embellished their buildings, carvings, statues, etc. with sacred stones. This was the norm, not the exception. The ancients had many ways of working with crystals every day.

Crystal Info Dissemination
Civilizations have worked with stones and have experimented with them for thousands of years, honing and perfecting this information and techniques.

When the anthropologists sit down to study various cultures and ask them, “Where does this information come from?”, it’s repeatedly revealed that it’s been passed down from generation to generation to generation.

They’ll often say, “It was passed on by others.” Now, who are the others? That’s left up to interpretation. You can take that deeper wherever you’d like to go, but that’s beyond the scope of this blog post. 😉

Most of our crystal books and their stone correspondences are based on this passed down data.

Not all of them…

Some contain info that’s been channeled or personally researched by the author, but the majority have a strong foundation largely based on this ancient information.

And it’s great to KNOW all this crystal stuff, but keep in mind…

Knowledge is useless unless it’s applied. Right?

And I don’t know about you, but for me to CONSISTENTLY apply something, it had better not take up much of my time or brain power, plus it has to work itself easily into my everyday routines. Otherwise, it just becomes some beautifully complicated ceremony that I did that one time and never had time to do again.

Now that may work for some stuff but for most of the things that we want to apply crystals to; it generally works out best if we work with them often and consistently; making them part of our everyday routines.

So, how do we do that? – actually put them to practical everyday use?

Well, I can tell you what I do…

My five favorite ways to work with my crystals every day:
1. Crystal Grid
Crystal grids are like a manifestation-amplifier for any area of your life — money, health, relationships, happiness. On any given day, I’ll have at least one (but usually two) crystal grids set up somewhere in my home to manifest a certain intention I’m working on. There’s always something I could be working on!

I have a recent blog post over here with specifics on getting you started with a crystal grid.
2. Gem Elixir
Basically, a gem elixir is crystal water. When made with the intention of drinking it, I’m always mindful of toxicity levels of any of the stones that I use. I also consider the Mohs Hardness or rusting probability (iron content) when I’m concerned about preserving the stone’s integrity and beauty.

Gem elixirs are water entrained with specific crystal healing vibrations… because subtle energies can be charged and stored in water quite efficiently. Here are two different blog posts where I give you an example of how I work gem elixirs into my everyday routines: Hibiscus Iced Tea for Immune Boosting and Magical Mermaid Crystal Tea. But, listen… most days I just take a safe tumbled stone and plop it into my drinking water.
3. Crystal Meditation
This is something I strive to work into every day. Some days it just doesn’t happen. However, I’ve found that if I do it in the morning, that seems to work best. I usually end up getting my meditation in about four days a week.

And this is the one activity in this list… that if I had to choose just one, I would not do without this one. I find it to be the most transformative for my everyday psyche and mindset.

Before meditation, I simply choose a stone to work with. It’s usually the same stone that I’ll work with for at least a week, if not longer. Then I’ll rest it in my left (receiving energy) hand or if it feels uncomfy that day I’ll rest it in front of me on my meditation cushion while having it touch some part of my body and allow it to influence my vibratory field for what’s usually a ten-minute meditation. Most people have a Rose Quartz. Or an Amethyst. Grab one and give it a go.

[thrive_2step id='22338'][/thrive_2step]
4. Chakra Balancing
This is an active and highly effective technique that can really effect change with recalibrating your major energy centers in your body. If you’re new to chakras entirely, I suggest you start with part 1 in my chakra blog post series here.

This is the art of laying on of stones.  There are many steps and nuances to it that I teach my students in my Certified Crystal Healing Course, but to do a very simple chakra balancing session, you’re taking seven crystals whose colors correspond to each chakra and lay them over each chakra leaving them in place for about 15 minutes.
5. Crystal Jewelry
Now, in contrast to chakra balancing, stone jewelry is a very passive approach you can take with your crystal healing. You can simply find jewelry that incorporates the stones you’d most like to work with and wear them, allowing their energy field to entrain with and influence your own. That’s it! Does it get any easier than that?

Now there are many more ways to work with our crystals, right? These are just my personal methods that have fallen effortlessly into my almost-daily routines. I would love you to share your top methods with our Crystal Family! What are your favorite ways to work with crystals every day? Please tell me in the comments below.

Finding Synergy with a Blend of Healing Practices

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healer, Crystal Healing, interview 7 Comments

Hey hey, Crystal Hottie!

We’re back with another “Crystal Healer Interview” today!

The Crystal Healer Interview blog posts are a SPECIAL series where some of our Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healers & Advanced Crystal Masters take over the blog. This allows me to bring crystal healing to you through the eyes of another.  I’m so deeply grateful to these inspiring individuals for generously sharing their stories with us.  I learn so much through them.

Today we’re going to meet Certified Crystal Healer, Carrie Hensley!

Carrie shares with us her love for Yoga, Ayurveda & Crystal Healing  + working her Dharma while integrating Eastern & Western Medicine. The beauty she brings to our world is truly inspiring. YES. Good stuffs!

And Here’s Carrie …

♥♥♥
What brought you to the world of crystal healing?
There were a few things.

First of all, I have been following Hibiscus Moon for about 5 years now. I appreciate her authenticity and scientific approach. I truly adore her passion and wisdom. It is evident that she lives and breathes crystals.

The other two things that brought me to the world of crystal healing were yoga and Ayurveda.

I have been teaching yoga for 18 years. From these two ancient traditions; dis-ease begins on the energetic or subtle body level. Crystal healing occurs at this energetic level.

The three practices of Crystal Healing, Yoga & Ayurveda work synchronistically. It has become another tool to offer my students in terms of empowered healing.
What crystal has had the biggest effect on you?
Hands down the crystal that has had the biggest effect on me is celestite.

My soul is so drawn to this stone that I have:

  • one that I use for clients
  • one for personal use
  • and a geode that I keep in my sacred space

What do others in your life think about the path you’re on?
I am fortunate that most of the people in my life are on a similar path. Many of us see the importance of integrative medicine, the marriage between Eastern & Western medicine.

It’s fascinating to think that it has been only since the 80s & 90s, with the work of incredible pioneering scientists like Dr. Bruce Lipton & Dr. Candace Pert, that we recognized the inter-connectivity of the immune, endocrine and nervous systems.
As we continue to face a health care crisis in the U.S., it is my sincere hope that we will continue to look towards alternative practices, like crystal healing, in terms of preventative medicine.
What is the primary way you utilize crystals in your practice?
Personally, I use crystals during my daily meditation practice. The meditation might be an overall chakra meditation with stones placed at each chakra or the meditation might be sitting with an aragonite cluster in each palm.

In my work with students and clients, I do the traditional Hibiscus Moon Method of crystal healing. I allow my intuition to guide me during the session as we work to clear and unblock the chakras, help alleviate any physical and emotional pain and help restore balance back to the body, mind & spirit.

What are your BIG DREAMS now that you’ve graduated?
My big picture vision has always been to help end world suffering, called Dukha in Sanskrit.

Currently, I design yoga programs for special needs populations, such as seniors, breast cancer patients and those suffering from anxiety, depression and addiction, by integrating Eastern & Western medicine. Moving forward, I will continue to design more of these programs and integrate crystal healing.

The other part of this is teaching yoga teachers how to integrate these crystal healing practices into their own teachings so that we continue to introduce other aspects of yoga and not just the postures; to educate others that disease occurs at the energetic level first.
What do you love most about working with crystals?
I see the difference the crystals make in my own life and in the lives of my students & clients. It is extremely empowering to take responsibility for your own health. I love to teach my students how they can integrate crystals into their lives, on a daily basis, mainly through the chakras.

What 3 energy-work or spirituality books are you loving right now?
I LOVE books!

My favorite 3 energy-work books currently are:

Yoga of the Subtle Body

This is a fantastic book to understand the physical and subtle anatomy of the body in terms of the yoga perspective.

Another favorite book is Energy Medicine

Finally, I love Creating on Purpose

One of the reasons I love all of these books is there are many exercises to reflect on and take inspired action to make a difference in our own lives.
Do you have any advice for anyone who is considering this path?
Do it!

The personal growth and awareness you will receive is worth it alone!
If you are called to being a conduit for healing, becoming a Certified Crystal Healer will provide countless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others.
I wish I would have done it years ago! That being said, I am grateful I finally made the investment in myself and my career.

Carrie’s Bio: I own an online yoga community and help women connect to their inner guru. My dharma (life’s purpose) is to teach women how to live on their terms and reclaim their intrinsic worth.  You can find Carrie at www.carriehensley.com

Crystal Blessings,

The Art of Merging Botanicals, Gem Elixirs and Crystals

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Goodness, Crystal Healer, Crystal Healing, Gem Elixirs, interview 6 Comments

Hi Crystal Hottie!

I have another special treat for you today: another Crystal Healer Interview. Yay, right?

Personally, it really stokes my passion for crystals to hear from others who are out there “boots on the ground” making a difference for themselves & others through the power of crystals. 🙂

And I’m so grateful that I have so many lovely Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healers who’ve decided to generously share their journey with us all here on my blog.

Weeeee, I’m really fired up to introduce you to Hibiscus Moon Advanced Crystal Master Ina Rosales, aka Ina the Herbal Contessa. Ina has also helped us in the past as a Crystal Content Manager for my courses…she’s got super-natural abilities to catch every little detail & make sure it’s all consistent. That’s just 1 of her many super-powers. She’s also a Gem Elixir Guru.

It’s a true honor to share her here with you…

Isn’t she freakin’ ADORABLE?!

Ina shares with us the art of merging botanicals with crystals. Serious YUM!

All set? Here’s Ina’s interview…

♥♥♥
What brought you to the world of Crystal Healing?
I have always felt a deep connection with nature.

In my early 20’s I had a small organic farm where I sold herbs, flowers and vegetables at my local Farmers’ Market. It was a natural progression to merge the botanicals with the crystals.

I believe in:
“Sacrednicities”; the belief that the universe is conspiring on my behalf to shower me with Blessings
…and that is how I was guided to Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy.

The rest is crystal-history!

What do others in your life think about the path you are on?
I’m very lucky to have such tremendous support from both my friends and family. I believe more and more people are seeing and experiencing the healing energies of crystals and they are becoming more open to the idea.
What do you love most about working with crystals?
I love how simple yet so profound the results can be working with these beauties from the earth.

They are gentle enough to use everyday and I love to use and see the results on my pets, too.

I adopted a disabled, senior poodle with a neurological disorder that makes her spin. I gave her a Crystal Chakra Balance session that she absolutely loved.

It was the most calm and relaxed that I’ve ever seen her!  I used the following crystals:

  • Clear Quartz
  • Amethyst
  • Blue Lace Agate
  • Rose Quartz
  • Citrine
  • Carnelian
  • Black Tourmaline
  • Hematite

What 3 energy-work or spirituality books are you loving right now?
Flower Essences and Vibrational Healing by Gurudas. I purchased this book about 20 years ago. It never gets old and I love to reread this treasure.

Another great find from 15 years ago that I’m rereading is Aromatherapy and Subtle Energy Techniques by Joni Keim Loughram and Ruah Bull.

…and The Language of Plants- A Guide to the Doctrine of Signatures by Julia Graves.  “This book is an eye-opener, showing us with many examples how to see plants in their entirety, and thus to know their essence.”

What is your go-to crystal for grounding?
I have always loved Hematite (non-magnetic).

After taking Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy course and learning that Hematite is not only rich in the element (Fe) Iron (an element that I’ve always been fascinated with) but Hematite helps to entrain us back to our natural Dominant Oscillary Rate (DOR) which makes it a great grounding tool to balance the Root Chakra.

I feel less dizzy and more calm and balanced when I use Hematite.

[caption id="attachment_17804" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Calendula, Black Lava Salt, Hematite, Black Tourmaline & Essential Oil Bath Salts[/caption]

Here are some vibrant gem-infused gem elixir (& other sparkly stuffs) recipes from Ina:
[caption id="attachment_17803" align="aligncenter" width="480"] Gem elixir time! Rose quartz + 1 tsp Neroli Blossom Water in Arkansas Spring water (where the finest quartz crystals grow naturally!)…for a happy heart[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_17805" align="aligncenter" width="600"] This hair corsage uplifts the mood with the heavenly herbal scents, brings calm to an overactive mind, and Ginkgo one of the oldest plants on the planet helps the wearer to gather wisdom, clarity and focus.[/caption]

When using healing botanicals and crystals in this way, our energy is infused by, and merges with, their energy.

[caption id="attachment_17801" align="aligncenter" width="450"] Honey Calcite and Citrus Floral Water (another type of gem elixir) to invoke joy and quench the thirst on any day.[/caption]

May our journey be supported and nourished by the Earth Mother’s plant and mineral kingdom.
