The Best Crystals 💎 for ☿️ Mercury ☿️ Retrograde

Hibiscus Moon astronomy 1 Comment

From the 25th of July to the 18th of August we’re in Mercury retrograde period. Meaning the planetary orbit of Mercury APPEARS to be going backward. Astrologically speaking, this is retrograde motion, and it’s known to affect us all energetically. Mercury is not the only planet that creates this illusion in the sky either. It is, however, one of the most popular planets to discuss when it comes to the subject retrograde motion.

Why is Mercury Retro a Thing?
Mercury is much closer to the Sun and has a smaller orbital cycle; resulting in about three Mercury retros a year, meaning it affects us more often than the other planets. So, in today’s blog, we’ll be looking at the best crystals for Mercury retrograde. Mercury is known to influence things like, communication, telecommunication, technology, travel, and generally anything that has to do with business. It clearly has a very mischievous influence over quite a lot of things.

However, you should also be careful not to put too much credence into all of this. Some people get so fearful and anxious over Mercury retrograde that they manifest a lot of their concerns into reality. My take on the matter is to heed the usual warnings by being aware of them but avoid worrying more than you need to.

Before I give you some crystals that we can use as tools and support during this time. I’d like to give you four things that I like to watch for when we’re in the Mercury retrograde period.
4 Things You Should Look For During Mercury Retrograde
No contracts 📝
During Mercury retrograde, we’re supposed to avoid making any plans or new agreements that are considered binding. Avoid essential meetings or legally binding documents where something brand new is being initiated. For example, let’s say you’re starting a brand new business, launching a new product, or signing a lease to rent a new apartment for an extended period; I would recommend that you avoid those decisions or actions until the retrograde period has passed.
Clear Communication 👍
Devote extra attention to communicating as clearly as possible. Don’t be afraid of people saying, “oh my gosh she’s so anal, or he’s so fastidious”; you’re doing exactly what you should be doing during this time. It doesn’t hurt to look for clarity, even outside of Mercury retrograde periods additional clarity is only ever going to help you. Don’t accept verbal promises or agreements be sure to get it in writing. Also, be sure to choose your words carefully because communication on your part can also get rather muddy during retrograde.
Be Extra Wary of All Technology 📱
Everything you’re thinking right now, emails, texts, basically anything electronic. I noticed a lot of “message failed to send” notifications happening during Mercury retros for me. For lack of a more advanced term let ‘s just say things tends to glitch or freeze up excessively during retrograde. Case in point, I usually do my videos live every week on Facebook, and last week, Facebook decided to revoke my ability to do so. Which is OK it’s no big deal, you simply find another way to execute whatever it is that you had planned. Things generally just start to go haywire during this time. Make sure you’re taking the time to confirm that important messages or details did get where they needed to be.
Make Sure You’re on The Same Page 🤔
What you say and think, might not be received exactly how it should be. So make sure you double-check, even in face to face conversations that the message was communicated properly. A little earlier I mentioned how important it is for you to be articulating everything to the best of your ability. When I say “make sure you’re on the same page” I want you to confirm that the message was not just communicated but received properly as well. I know that things are misinterpreted all the time via email, text, and even in face to face conversations. So during Mercury retrograde, ask the other party if what you said made sense. Or if you’re on the receiving end double-check to make sure you understand the point someone is trying to make.

So do your best to keep these four things in mind during a retrograde period. To help myself stay cool calm and collected I remind myself of the big R-E, renew, relax, review; just review things in more detail and don’t rush into anything too quickly. Dot all your I’s and cross all your T’s, but don’t put anything into action just yet.

Finally, not to add something on top of the retrograde period but remember that we’re also smack dab in the middle of the eclipse season. I did discuss this eclipse season in great detail in a recent blog post.
The Best Crystals For Mercury Retrograde

Emerald

Emerald is going to help promote smooth communication and assist you when it comes to organizing activities or plans. Also, let’s remember that it doesn’t need to be a very “fancy” emerald. It’s ok for it to be rough and jagged along the edges and surface. Emerald is very inexpensive when it’s not considered “jewelry quality”.

Blue Lace Agate

This is a fairly easy one to find, it’s very affordable and abundantly available. Blue lace agate also helps promote clear and calm communication. Exactly what we need during Mercury retrograde. It’s also very good for the throat chakra, promotes good decision-making, and organization.

Fluorite

Any color variety of fluorite will work as well, it doesn’t need to be green or blue. You’ll find that fluorite comes in just about any color.

Amazonite & Aquamarine

The final crystals I would recommend working with act very much along the same lines. Amazonite and aquamarine work great with the throat chakra and are excellent for not only harmonizing communication but also promoting clear and articulate communication. Also, just like the emerald, these do not have to be beautiful gemstone quality by any means.

Have you used any of these crystals during Mercury retrograde before? How do you prepare for/handle the Mercury retrograde period? Let me know in the comments down below!

If you don’t have the specific crystals that I’m working with, not to worry because that’s the whole point…I’m going to work with the crystals and do a little something to share the energy out to you. ♥

But if you do want to do the same meditation with crystals you have at home, you can use:

  • Lepidolite
  • Gem Silica
  • Amazonite

I know Gem Silica’s a really hard one to find. In fact, if you can only find 1 of these crystals, that’s fine. If you can’t find any of them, no worries, I have them for you. 🙂

If you have some lavender essential oil go ahead and grab that, but it’s not necessary…just an added serenity component to get in the zone for meditation.
Crystals for the Meditation for Peace
Lepidolite
Lepidolite is a wonderful choice for peacefully calming energy.

Amazonite
Amazonite is known as “the peacemaker“.  Don’t we need that right now?   The peacemaker. Plus it has a beautiful hexagonal crystal structure…working the Sacred Geometry.  Just gorgeous!

[caption id="attachment_10677" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Amazonite (photo credit: Rob Levinsky of irocks.com)[/caption]
Gem Silica
Gem Silica is another peacemaker.

The gem silica that I have is really chrysocolla encrusted with clear quartz. Total sparkly-ness.  I think it’s one of the most beautiful crystals in the world.

And I’m also going to burn some lavender essential oil in an aromatherapy diffuser. Any organic brand is fine.
Let’s Meditate
Take some deep breaths and just get into the relaxed state, alpha brain waves state.

In our meditation I use a copper tetrahedron structure to amplify the energies of the crystals.  (In the video you’ll see the one I had made for doing crystal work, for meditation and sacred geometry work.)

And then send peace, this energy that we’re going to work on together here, out into the world.

So we’re going to get quiet and focus on your breath.

Focus on the peaceful feeling in your heart, and focus on the energy of the crystals.
Focus on your breath, focus on the peace in your heart and focus on the crystals.
Inhale deeply, taking the deepest breath you’ve taken so far today and exhale all the air, sending peace out, radiating it around the planet.

Let the energy of lepidolite, gem silica and the amazonite envelope us.  It envelopes us in this bubble of peace that’s around the whole entire planet.

A peaceful energy.

Feel this energy in every cell in your body.
Amazonite and gem silica are working together as peacemakers with our energy, with our vibrations.  Lepidolite adds its calming and balancing effect.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Sending out gratefulness for the ability to release this peace and to work together with the vibrations.

So much love and light and peaceful energy radiating out from your being.  Connecting with all of us.

All are one.

We’re all connected.

We’re connected here together, we’re from all over the planet. And our vibrational waves are meeting up with each other in the ether.

Isn’t that a peaceful feeling?

I’m so grateful to all of you for joining in this meditation, for being here joining me and all of us.

Now, visualize beaming love and peace from your heart center. Beam it out!

Thank you love beings, that wraps up the meditation.  We’re going to end it there.

How was that? Nice, huh.

We can really beam this energy around because you know we need it right now, this is all we need to do. We need to send out love and peace.

Stop with the negativity. We’re not focusing on that. We’re focusing on positivity, love, peace from heart center, from us to everyone.

So many blessings of peace going out to you & everyone.  We are the peacemakers, right?

We are the peacemakers.

Thank you for joining me in sending out peace, love and positivity!  I hope you enjoyed this crystal meditation for peace.

During this meditation, were you able to tap into that peace and love and send it out from your heart?  Send it out to the world?  Please share your experience with me in the comments below.

Crystal Blessings to you Peacemakers,

What are the best Crystals for Busting Bad Habits?

Hibiscus Moon amethyst, Crystals, healing, health 12 Comments

Bad habits.

We all have them.

They say it takes an average of 66 days to break a bad habit.

And 21 days to create a new one.

Hey! That totally works in our favor: It only takes less than a 1/3 of the time to create a new good habit than it does to break a bad one. 🙂

Annnnd, you’ll probably be happy to know that we can use crystals to help us along with that task.
So let’s get to talking about crystal suggestions for breaking our bad habits:

A lot of times people will say something like:

  • I need to quit smoking
  • I need to stop biting my nails
  • I need to get into a habit of not eating junk food, or stop being lazy and “couch-potatoing” when I get home from work and get to the gym

Whatever it is that you consider to be a bad habit that you want to break out of, any bad habit you can think of…I’ve probably heard it before & have partaken in a few myself.

Of course, I’ve had my own bad habits that I’ve had to kind of bust out of.  Not exercising, eating poorly, gossiping. I used to drink Coke all of the time.  Then it was Diet Coke all the time.  Yes, I have used crystals to help me quit.

As always, I’m not saying that crystals are the only thing you should do.  There are lots of ways, methods and all kind of things you can use to help you quit, break the bad habit & train yourself out of that habit & I feel you should use all that you have at your disposal, not just rely on the crystals alone, however, crystals can be a really powerful healthy ally, tool & support in helping you to break out of these bad habits.

Having said that, here in this blog post, I’m going to only focus on the crystals.

Crystals for Bad Habits
Amethyst:

It’s, like, the most well-known crystal for helping us to break out of bad habits.

Since ancient times, Romans used to create goblets made of Amethyst because it was well-known as an anti-drunkenness stone.  They would make the goblets of Amethyst so that the rulers & leaders could just drink and drink and drink; get everybody else stinkin’ drunk & incapacitated, but they wouldn’t be drunk themselves, thereby able to take total advantage of situations!

I haven’t tested this method out myself. 😉

[caption id="attachment_17979" align="aligncenter" width="595"] Trying to climb into my amethyst geode. ;)[/caption]

Then this anit-drunkiness reputation kind of morphed into a stone that would make you not want to drink.  Of course, we know that alcohol can be addictive.

More addictive for some than others.

I am told (have heard this from others so please correct me if I’m wrong) that in A.A. Meetings, they suggest carrying a little Amethyst with you to help on the path to sobriety.

Even if it is just for a visual reminder; like a tangible object to remind you of the path that you are on…Hey, if that’s all it is for some people, then fine!

I know & you probably know it too; Amethyst indeed has those kind of “will-power-boosting” properties, so that you don’t want to do those things you’re trying to break free of: whether it be soda, cigarettes, drugs, alcohol…whatever it is that is bad for you, that we consider a bad habit.

We all have bad habits of 1 kind or another we’d like to release. Right? It’s part of our human experience.
Amazonite:
Another stone that’s really great to help you kind of look for the root cause of what’s holding you back, or what’s making you rely on these bad habits is Amazonite.

It’s a good reminder of your goals, and what you’re moving towards…breaking those bad habits

[caption id="attachment_10677" align="aligncenter" width="600"] Amazonite (photo credit: Rob Levinsky of irocks.com)[/caption]
Chrysocolla:
Chrysocolla is gorgeous & sometimes looks like the planet Earth. Doesn’t it?

Just beautiful.

This stone allows us to express our sacred selves while experiencing our power…yet with gentleness. It assists us with releasing fear-based actions & patterns; such as bad habits.

Staurolite:
Staurolite (aka Fairy Cross) is actually great for helping us get rid of things…including bad habits!  Sometimes you’ll find little sparkly red Garnets in there with the staurolite. Luscious!

Black Onyx
The Black Onyx is also wonderful for boosting will-power.  That’s what you need; lots of will-power when you’re trying to break your bad habits, until the new GOOD habit becomes…well…a habit!

It also boosts inner strength.

How to tell the difference? Obsidian is usually shinier. Onyx is a bit more dull & may have white, gray or black spots or bands (see above).

Crystal Blessings! More power to you, Sparkly One, in breaking your bad habits!
