Does an Eclipse Effect Energy?

You betchya!

Four eclipses on the horizon for 2012. Those of you that have been following me for a while know that I love to ride those Mother Earth energies like a Bonsai Pipeline! And I like to use the energies of crystals right along with it whenever I can.

Eclipses harbor powerful energy that intertwine with Mother Earth’s Grid (I explain more about this grid in my little book; Crystal Grids).

You don’t need to be able to visibly see an  eclipse for its energy to be able to affect you. And that’s a good thing too b/c its very difficult to catch an eclipse, especially a Solar one! But the effects of its energy on us has even been tested by many a scientist. Of course, they have yet to come to a decisive conclusion, but we don’t need no steeeeenkin’ scientific conclusion. We know! When you’re in-tune w/ Mother Earth you can just feel this stuffs. Right?

Just as I teach with crystals, if an energy is High Amplitude (meaning it carries a whopping lot of energy) it can mess with the base frequency of an object. I classify an eclipse as a high amp event which can leave an imprint in Mother Earth’s grid which can, in turn,  influence us. Make sense?

Since I don’t feel expert at working with energy on the magnitude of a Total Solar Eclipse (don’t know if I ever will) I don’t like to do too much messing around with it. I’m good with simply acknowledging & respecting it.

I will work with Lunar eclipses & such when creating certain special Gem Elixir blends. Those make for some supremely special edition potions difficult to replicate!
So what’s on tap for 2012?

  • May 20: Annular Solar Eclipse– This eclipse happens when the Moon is a tad closer to the Sun leaving a bright ring of  Sun around the Moon.  Solar eclipses can only appear  during a new moon & in the day time, of course. This means that you are working with new moon energy (great for cleansing, purging, ending things & letting go). Good time to clean out closets & such. Less amplitude than a Total Solar Eclipse. Click here for a NASA map of where you need to be to see this event. Crystals to Work with: herkimer diamond & citrine, stellar beam calcite
[caption id="attachment_3206" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Annular Eclipse. Photo Credit: sancho_panza[/caption]
  • Jun 04: Partial Lunar Eclipse– I view Lunar eclipses as a really powerful Full Moon. Since this is a partial eclipse its less so, but a powerful Full Moon none the less. High amplitude, no doubt. For me, the Full Moon is a time to be grateful for what the last lunar cycle has brought about & to look to plans & changes for the next cycle. Lunar Eclipses are a good energy to bring about change. Any course corrections necessary for the next cycle? Just contemplating that. I no longer put my crystals out under Lunar Eclipse energy. I feel its just too wonky.  (Click here for NASA maps) Crystals to Work with: moonstone, fluorite
  • Nov 13: Total Solar Eclipse- this is  mega-powerful energy here! Whoa…lots of banishing energy. Personally, I feel the energy is too wild for my liking so I just appreciate it & notice. Think of it…the Sun, the Moon & the Earth are in perfect alignment. The energies are STACKED! Very powerful stuff and something that I don’t feel comfortable messing around with myself.  I’ll just stand back & watch thank you very much! (Click here for NASA map)

[caption id="attachment_3211" align="aligncenter" width="256"] Alignment of a Total Solar Eclipse. Image credit: NASA[/caption]

  • Nov 28: Penumbral Lunar Eclipse– this one is like a partial lunar eclipse but has some unobservable differences (points of contact) & not too striking to look at, but the slight energy difference is there none the less. Again, this is good energy to bring about change & to look for course-corrections. (Click here for NASA maps) This is a great opportunity to make some powerful gem elixirs too!! Crystals to Work with: moonstone, fluorite
[caption id="attachment_3212" align="aligncenter" width="300"] moonstone[/caption]

Notice, the eclipses occur in pairs of solar with lunar? Balancing of energies. Just an interesting little tidbit.

So, how are you planning on working with the celestial energies? I’d love to hear about it, Crystal Hottie! Please share below!

Hang on for the RIDE! 🙂 Surf’s Up!

Moldavite: Out of this World?

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healing, Gem Elixirs, meditation, Mother Earth, science 38 Comments

So is moldavite from outer space?

Ahhh, dreamy cosmic greeny moldavite. You’ve heard so much about it, or maybe you haven’t. My goal in teaching about crystals is to give you the metaphysical properties (this may vary somewhat from person to person b/c not all of us experience frequencies in the same way) & always back it with  whatever science is available too, then I try to throw some FUN into it. 🙂
Moldavite Science
Moldavite is a type of rare green colored tektite. What are tektites you say? They’re naturally formed small glass rocks that most geologists believe were formed by the impact of meteorites on Earth. Being glass means these are not technically crystals nor minerals at all, but rocks.

These are black tektites:

Black tektites like these are found on Mother Earth within a narrow equatorial belt around Thailand, Australia, Vietnam & the Philippines. The strongest scientific origin theories state that they took a very fast trip through the atmosphere while they were still molten & then landed on Earth, SPLAT!…little gifts for us to discover later.  So basically, this theory states that its natural glass created from the immense heat of a meteoritic impact with the Earth. An alternate theory states that the meteorite impacts actually occurred on the Moon & that tektites are droplets of rock that splashed off the Moon onto Mother Earth! Dating techniques suggest such an event occurring about 700,000 years ago. Yet another strong theory points to an impact in Indochina from an extra-terrestrial object.

Moldavite is a specific tektite named after the Moldau river region in Southern Bohemia, where most Moldavite can be found. Many scientists believe this area was impacted by a meteorite about 15 million years ago which mostly likely created the current moldavite sold on the market. The green color is mostly likely due to the iron content & possibly some olivine (peridot) from the original meteorite).
Real or fake?
Be careful, there’s a bit o’ fake moldavite on the market especially sold on ebay from China & then redistributed by others in the US.Some are taking green bottle glass, melting it & then etching it with acid to make it look like moldavite.

I now make an annual trek to Tucson in Feb. for the world renowned Tucson Gem & Mineral Shows. There I hook up with a seller who hand mines with a plow on farm land in the Moldau region. His family lives there & they make all their income for the entire year off of their moldavite findings sold in Tucson! Its a meager but honest living for them. Last year they told me how its  getting harder for them now. Several years ago the Czech government changed the rules; you can only dig to 1 meter unless you have a permit, which can be costly.  He has also told me its becoming increasingly harder to find the green rock as its getting more & more scarce, thereby driving up the price.
No one would dare come to the Tucson Gem & Mineral Shows trying to sell fake moldavite unless they want to be bounced out face first into a cactus!
Plus many of us are walking around with jeweler’s loupes looking for teeny tiny wormlike inclusions telltale of the real deal moldavite. 🙂

How can you tell if its fake sans loupe? Well, if it has a blue cast to it, it may very likely be bottle glass. Also, large pieces of moldavite are extremely rare so be aware of those & do your research.
The Woo Woo
Metaphysically tektites are  known to rev up  thought transmissions while enhancing psychic abilities & astral travel. Woo! What a trip! They can also increase energy fields, open & clear the lower chakras & generally enhance & strengthen your  aura. Australian aborigines refer to tektites as “Mabon”, or magic & believe that finding one brings good luck! In India, they’re known as the Sacred Gem of Krishna. Tektites can also assist you in attaining knowledge & learning your life lessons. They also really help to balance the feminine/masculine aspects.

All tektites, including moldavite, are said to have a very high vibrational frequency due to their cosmic connection. Moldavite specifically helps with meditation & peak experiences during meditation as well as making contacts with other worlds. Its also known for rapid spiritual evolution, chakra cleansing, activation & transformation. The green in moldavite also brings a frequency that resonates with the heart chakra, helping to open & deepen heart-centered meditations.

Good stuffs this moldavite!

I have experienced it myself, but you must be very careful not to OD on it, like I have. At first, all I noticed was the tingly warm feeling most described, but in working with it more, it certainly did its magic & then a sneak attack! Dizziness, flushing & lightheadedness are common OD’ing symptoms. If you are not experienced with working with crystals & meditating then I recommend waiting until you are more experienced & then take it verrrrry slow & in small doses. And even if you are experienced, ALWAYS balance with a good grounding stone, like black tourmaline. I learned this the HARD WAY!

Here’s a video I did on moldavite on my YouTube Crystal Channel: High Ascension Crystals – Moldavite and Scolecite

I’ve been really drawn to working with moldavite quite a bit lately. On 11-11-11, I made moldavite gem elixir & now I’ve taken the chips I had left from last year’s Tucson trip & along with my Moldavite Gem essence & a few other magical ingredients & I’m working on a very special moldavite high ascension gem oil to use during meditations. Its going to be COSMIC!!

Recently, I’ve been having certain crystal healings done by my Crystal Healer & CCH, Gina here in FL & she did a Moldavite Session for me that was AMAZOING! Here’s a vid clip from our pre-session & what she had planned for me:

BTW, if you’d like a piece of moldavite, I do custom shopping for my clients while in Tucson for special requests. (Payment required upfront). For serious inquiries you can contact me here.

So, have you worked with moldavite? Have some? Jonsin’ for some? Think you have the real thing or a fake? Please share. 🙂

Winter Solstice Crystal Love

Hibiscus Moon ceremony, Crystal Healing, Crystals, meditation, Mother Earth 8 Comments

Its almost time for Winter Solstice, falling on Dec. 22 this year. For the last four years I’ve been doing an annual Winter Solstice Meditation using garnet as my focus-friend. Garnet is THE gem stone to have in your sacred space for Winter Solstice; specifically, Almandine Garnet. Here it is in all its red-delicious glory:

And here’s a vid on did on LUSCIOUS garnet not too long ago. Yum, yum. yum…:

Why garnet? Garnet has a sumptuous-smoldering inner fire (mmmmm) that rebels against even the most bitter cold winter days & seasonal melancholy (should you have any this time of year in the Northern Hemi.), especially for those of us who may suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder…brought on by the diminished sunlight. ((HUGS))

Almandine garnet’s gorgeous deep red color reminds me of the sacred Yule berry; holly! How perfect! Its known to bring courage & sweet vitality during dark winter months. Its also great for spiritual devotion.

So my Winter Solstice Meditation goes like this. I go into my sacred space, light a few candles, hold a piece of garnet & work on going into alpha brainwaves with deep breathing & counting backwards. Then I stare at my garnet until my eyes go out of focus. I go into the garnet in my mind’s eye….it sure is GORGEOUS in there! I have the most amazing meditations when I do this. TRY IT! You won’t be disappointed. 🙂
Now, I used to be a bartender back in the day. Paid my way through college…great job! So, of course, I have a Winter Solstice Gem Elixir Cocktail!! Here’s my personal recipe. Makes one cocktail:

  • 1 1/2 oz. of Crystal Head vodka (do you know about this vodka? Whoa, Baby…let me tell you about it…made of deep glacial aquifer water, quadruple-distilled then filtered over 500-million year-old Herkimer diamonds with NO additives at all, making this the ultimate in gem elixrs! Excited yet?
  • 1/2 oz. orange-flavored liqueur, such as Cointreau
  • 1/2 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice cubes made of Garnet Gem Elixir!!! Now, this is gettin’ good!
  • splash of chilled club soda
  • splash of cranberry juice
  • 1 raspberry, for garnish

And now its time for the Famous WPIX Yule Log (used to be looped on Christmas Eve & Day on WPIX in the NY-metro broadcast area back in the 80’s! Cozy.) This is so much fun!:

I don’t follow any religion, but Winter Solstice; is a time of ceremony for me, a time when the night is the longest, giving me plenty of time for contemplation. Besides being a time of giving to others, this is a time of inner reflection for me & of thinking up new goals to focus on for the coming year. That’s always good stuff, right there.

Crystals & stones help me to focus on my goals while also helping me resonate with Mother Earth’s seasonal frequencies as they ebb & flow. Crystals can be such blessings at this time of year whether you celebrate the Solstice, Kwanza, Ramadan, Christmas, Chanukah, or any other winter holidays I haven’t thought of yet!

I luv to make a Solstice Sachet chockfull of solstice goodness. I take an evergreen colored organza bag & toss in a mix of Winter Solstice dried organic herbs; comfrey, mistletoe, whole cloves (the last 2 are not pictured) & frankincense resin chips. Then I infuse the herbs & resin with organic Scotch Pine & Fir Needle essential oils. And of course, I include 2 large tumbled Garnet gem stones along with 3 quartz crystal points to pump up the garnet-energy.

So what do you do with a mojo bag such as this one? I do several different things with it depending on what strikes me at the moment.

I may first charge it on my sacred meditation altar to help imbue the correct energetic frequencies.   I’ll leave it there for a day or two & then I may meditate with it (the crystals & aroma put me in the perfect Winter Solstice meditative state…gets me right where I need to be). I may choose to  lay it by my bedside or sleep with it under my pillow. I usually end up carrying it around with me in my purse, holding & sniffing it whenever I need a Solstice Pick Me Up. Teeeeeheeeee. My little Holiday Secret.
And lastly, a video clip from my last year’s winter solstice complete with mischevious Topaz-Kitty!:

This year, I’m really going to focus on my intentions for the new year…I have some big dreams coming to fruition just around the corner! Do I just make a resolution? Ppp-shaw! Noooo, I do a crystal grid of course! Should you feel called to do one yourself or if you’re looking for last minute instant gift ideas, you may be called to take a look at my Crystal Grids Template Package.

Please share your Solstice/Holiday rituals & crystally goodness. I love hearing what others do!

Solstice Blessings! Mwaaaaah!

Solar Eclipse, Summer Solstice & Much More!

Hibiscus Moon astronomy, Crystals, mermaids, Mother Earth, science 4 Comments

THere’s a blog I’ve recently fallen in love with and this link points to a particular post that does a great job explaining the power of a Solar Eclipse and how it acts as a sort of “micro-year” condensed in a very short period of time. Just a great post with a wealth of info.!

So many celestial and powerful events are coming up!

So first is the Summer solstice on June 21st at 7:28am EDT for the Northern Hemi, then a Partial Lunar Eclipse on June 26. Here’s NASA’s info and locations for that event. I will be eagerly watching. 🙂 This will all be followed by the grand finale of the Total Solar Eclipse on July 11!

Very powerful stuff and something that I don’t feel comfortable messing around with myself but I do and will have my pyrite and citrine around me from the Summer Solstice on through to the Solar eclipse. to attune my energies to these events. Here’s my YT vid that explains more if you haven’t seen it:

And lastly, you can catch Mercury in early June just before sunrise low in the Eastern sky. It’s never far from the Sun so its hard to catch a view of this little planet. Then there’s gorgeous Venus. Have you been catching it bright in the evening Western sky? It will be setting 3 hours after the Sun so its easy to view and should be the brightest object.

Crystal Blessings!
