Drawing Inspiration from your Crystal Healing Practice

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healing, energy work, grounding, health 9 Comments

Hi Crystal Hottie!

I have a special treat for you today! Remember when we used to do those Crystal Healer Interviews here on my blog? I very rarely accept guest posts, but from time to time I like to bust out of that model & invite some inspiring Crystal Workers into my space.

I know many of you soooo enjoyed hearing from others who are also passionate about using crystal therapy everyday. It fuels us to keep doing more of what we’re doing, right? And then go out & share it with the world. 🙂

Well, the Crystal Healer Interviews are back! I have a few lovely Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healers who’ve decided to step out here on my blog & let you into their gorgeous glitter-filled worlds.

I’m so happy to introduce you to Hibiscus Moon Advanced Crystal Master Angie Yingst of AngieYingst.com. I am so blessed to work with Angie as she is also part of our Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy Faculty as one of our beloved Crystal Coaches.

It’s a true honor to share her here with you.

Angie shares with us how she continues to draws inspiration from her crystal healing practice among many other motivational tid-bits.

Ready? Here’s Angie’s interview…

♥♥♥
What brought you to the world of Crystal Healing?
My sister and I would lay stones on the chakras in a completely intuitive way during Reiki sessions with each other.

Then Hibiscus Moon Crystal Academy started showing up everywhere I went on the internet, plus I subscribed to the newsletter. Even in day-to-day life, people would randomly say things like, “I’m drinking hibiscus tea under the full moon.” I realized I needed to take the path unfurling in front of me.
What is your most favorite crystal in the world and why?
That is like asking which is my favorite child! I love the dark grounding stones, particularly love garnet and black tourmaline.

[caption id="attachment_17483" align="aligncenter" width="600"] a large almandine garnet[/caption]

I think grounding is the key to all spiritual work from psychic work and meditation to dealing with bad drivers and temper tantrums.
What is something new that you’ve learned about crystals that you didn’t know before you took the course?

The science behind why crystals work remains the most important aspect of taking the coursework.

And not just science in one class, but throughout the coursework in the Certified Crystal Healer coursework, and the Advanced Crystal Master coursework. We are given examples, studies, links, books, more articles, and it just helps me volumes in my day-to-day client work. I am incredibly passionate about that part of crystal healing. Working as a Crystal Coach for HMCA students helps me stay in that mindset of the science behind what we do.
What do others in your life think about the path you’re on?
My husband works in the medical field, and could not be more supportive.

I believe medicine is moving toward a more integrated approach rather than split into two factions. Allopathic medicine and complementary medicine can work hand-in-hand for one amazing path of healing.
What do you think made the biggest difference to you on this path?
Realizing that I am not special nor am I capable of “healing” anyone.

My job is to raise someone’s vibration so they can do their work more easily or begin that process of energetic alignment with their intention.

I pray before every session that the person on my table receives the healing for their Highest Good. Then I do what I was trained to do as an Advanced Crystal Master and a Reiki Master/Teacher. I am simply a channel for healing energy.

I place stones quietly, perform Reiki without making it about me, practice meditation so that my mind can be a blank slate when I’m entering the auric field of my client, and introduce crystals in a way that empowers my clients and students. These are all part of that larger humility we need to accept when working as healers.
How do you navigate being a crystal healer and a mama/teacher, etc. on a daily basis?
I blend them together quite naturally–

  • mother
  • writer
  • artist
  • crystal healer

In meditation the other night, I just kept hearing: “You are the Mother” and I saw myself holding my babies, then working on the client in session, nurturing their soul into their next spiritual incarnation. Then painting, and birthing art from conception to finished piece.
What is the primary way you utilize crystals in your practice?
I lay stones on the body. I also teach crystal workshops each month on a topic of interest–this month is Intuition, next month is Empowerment–and my co-teacher Kate and I talk about ways to use crystals around this topic. They are really incredibly powerful classes.

We also teach day-long workshops on crystals. In those classes, we make gem water, create grids, lay stones on the body, meditate with crystals, and discuss crystal healing.

I also do distant crystal healing sessions.

From where do you draw inspiration in your crystal practice?
Everywhere.

I am constantly studying, learning from my colleagues in groups online, Facebook, and through crystal healers I admire, like Hibiscus Moon and Naisha Ahsian…and researching.

I have grown in my practice, and find that information comes to me in session that I integrate and learn more about on my downtime. I also take classes that interest me, knowing that I can incorporate it into my practice, if I resonate with it. I do not limit myself to one modality, and see my gift as being able to take these disparate ideas and bring them together for my clients.

What 3 energy-work or spirituality books are you loving right now?
I am reading Shamanic Reiki by Llyn Roberts, which is so powerful and reads so true to me.

I’m rereading the Ancient Secret of the Flower of Life by Drunvalo Melchizidek.

And right now, I keep revisiting the book Crystalline Illumination: The Way of the Five Bodies by Katrina Raphaell. I have been incorporating her techniques and ideas into my sessions and my clients move mountains after the vibration we raise.

Do you have any advice for anyone who is considering this path?
Know yourself and do your own spiritual work. That is the first thing I can recommend.

Go see healers, psychics, shamans, vibrational healers, energy workers, and pay attention to what works for you and what isn’t working. Ask questions. Find mentors and teachers, and take classes. Follow the path that unfurls in front of you without pushing. I always wanted to be a medium, but it is not my gift. I would have been miserable doing that anyway.

Be the healer whom you would want to see.

Angie’s Bio:   Angie  is an Advanced Crystal Master, Usui Reiki Master/Teacher, Tarot Reader, Writer, and Sacred Artist. Angie works out of Alta View Wellness Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where she sees clients for private crystal healing sessions, as well as facilitates monthly crystal workshops, teaches classes on Tarot, sacred art, and crystal healing, and leads moon circles and meditations. She also creates jewelry through her shop the Moon + Stone Healing. Angie writes about crystals and tarot on her blog. http://angieyingst.com/blog. And you can find her at http://angieyingst.com.

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Himalayan Salt Lamps

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Goodness, healing, health, space clearing 103 Comments

I get a lot of questions about Himalayan Salt Lamps:

What’s the big deal about these Himalayan Salt Lamps?

Do they really do what everybody says they do?

So the major thing that Himalayan Salt Lamps “do” is that they induce negative ions into your environment. (We’ll get to that in a moment).

I have one in my sacred crystal studio here. He’s super heavy & pretty darn big…he’s comes up to my knee.

I really like to have a salt lamp in just about every room of our home (2 in the bedroom; we have one on each of our nightstands on either side of our bed.)  My husband, Frankie & I really enjoy having them in our home due to how they restructure the energy of our environment. 🙂

Now, salt is a crystal; halite to be exact & it’s well-known for its cleansing, purifying properties. It is a very “soft” mineral (only a 2-2.5 on the Mohs Hardness scale) and is extremely water-soluble.  So don’t wet your lamp to clean it off…ever.

GEOGRAPHY FACTOID: Did you know that Himalayan Salt doesn’t actually even come from the Himalayas… but mined from a nearby salt mine: the Khewra Salt Mine in Pakistan, ~ 300 miles west of the Himalayan Mountains?

Now, look at this salt mine gorgeousness!!!

Science Geekery

Due to the nature of salt & its ability to draw moisture out of a substance, if you live in a high-humidity climate your salt lamp may “sweat” a bit. Keeping your lamp lit helps prevent the sweating due to the heat from the bulb or candle.

They’re great to have in a sacred space or anywhere you want to pump up the number of negative ions in a space...and that is something you’ll want to do.

What is a negative ion?
[caption id="attachment_15789" align="alignright" width="356"] The basic idea of an atom. Image author: Fastfission at en.wikipedia[/caption]

SALT LAMP GEEK ALERT!!: A negative ion is an atom where the number of electrons whizzing around the outside is more than the number of protons in the nucleus, giving the atom or molecule a net negative electrical charge. Got it?

Most agree that the negative ions generated by a salt lamp happen via the photoelectric effect (the salt lamp emits electrons when struck by light).
Nature
Now, there are things in nature that are much better and more efficient at putting out negative ions than salt lamps; like mountains, waterfalls, beaches or forests. Ionic minerals such as Tourmaline also produce them!

Geeky factoid: Very old-growth forests have higher negative ion output than a newer forest or a man-made planted forest. They put out thousands and thousands of negative ions.

Those are the spaces you want to be in.

Then there are the times,  if you’re in an office or a home that always has its windows closed and no plants or doesn’t have much connection to the outdoors… when you have very little or no negative ions.  Like those offices that are considered “sick buildings”, where you can never open the windows. You can never get fresh air.  Where there are UV lights you know blinking away down at people all day long. YUCK!

Those areas usually have zero negative ions but an excess of positive ions.

So what’s the big deal about negative ions?
Who cares? Who wants more “negative” anything? Sounds like a bad thing because I’m saying “negative ions”, right?

Well, It’s not a bad thing at all. 😉

Negative ions are actually something that we need to help balance ourselves because we are bombarded with positive ions, especially from the electronics we’re surrounded by all day long.  Having more negative ions in your environment actually has beneficial biochemical effects for us.
Finding Balance with Salt Lamps
The goal is to have a balance of both negative + positive ions. Not an overabundance of positive ions… which is how many of us now live today.

We want to have those negative ions within our space because it helps increase certain hormones in our physical body that actually benefit us in lots of ways; like Serotonin. Serotonin alleviates depression if you’re levels are balanced.

It’s also been said that a healthy balance of negative ions can:

  • relieve stress
  • boost your energy
  • boost your immune system
  • balance the air quality in a space by reducing dust, pollen & bacteria

Obvious benefits right? Things that we’d like to have 🙂
What about EMF?
Some salt lamps use electricity to light their glow & some use candlelight. The bulbs used to light them from within are very low-wattage so I’m not concerned with the amount of EMF emitting from them and you can insulate the wires with an EMF blocking material if you’re concerned about being too close to them.

Now like I said before, Himalayan Salt Lamps do produce negative ions, but they are not like mega-producers. Nature is your BEST source! So, it’s most beneficial to use them in an environment where you are really cut off from nature. Where you just don’t have a better option and can’t get a lot of energy from outdoors.

And of course, use them wherever you just want the space to feel clearer, more fresh, closer to nature or to create a more serene sacred retreat space for yourself.  In fact, if you’re new to creating sacred space, or you’re looking for some inspiration and new ideas you can grab my Create Sacred Space with Crystals eKit right here.

In my space, I can open up lots of windows. I also have big sliding glass doors that I can open up and be one with the outdoors.

I love to have that energy coming in.  But the salt lamp helps to really boost it.

And the bigger the better.

If you’re in the market for one, you can grab them here.

Evidence! Evidence! Give Me Evidence!
Himalayan Salt Lamps have been tested by negative ion measuring devices by various labs. Although the test results vary, many results show that they do produce negative ions, but not much.

Yeah, but they produce something and I feel that something is better than nothing!

And many of us do feel the differences and that is better than any lab test for me because the lab tests are so very limited in WHAT they can measure.

Overall, I enjoy having the lamps in my space and encourage using them in your space along with waterfalls and other things like that, that can also help boost the negative ions in your environment. In my experience, they’re amazing crystals for neutralizing negative energy. So, go for it!

Do you use Himalayan Salt Lamps in your space or around your home? Do you feel the benefits? Let me know in the comments below.

Crystal Blessings!

How To Awaken & De-Calcify Your Pineal Gland with Crystals ~ Part 2

Hibiscus Moon Crystals, healing, health 19 Comments

After doing a couple of videos on this bitty little gland, I know “awakening the pineal gland” is a highly controversial topic.  Lots of peeps have strong views about it & tend to get their panties in a bunch… & then the venom starts flying from some. Not sure why that is.

But, here on my blog (or on any of my social media properties), best keep your venom to  yourself or spew it on your own properties b/c I maintain a very happy, uplifting & positive space here. If you do choose to spew, you’ll be promptly deleted & banned.

HOWEVER!…I do welcome differing opinions along with healthy, respectful & mature debates discussing all view points. That is always welcome here. 🙂

And, just for a healthy dose of disclaimer juice…

OK, I promised I’d get to the crystals that help us to de-calcify & awaken our pineal gland in part 2 here. In case you missed Part 1, please watch it here.

Here are the points I discuss regarding awakening the pineal gland in this episode:

  • Why its a good idea to get rid of any fluoride you may be consuming
  •  Importance of being grounded. Here’s my popular blog post on how to do that.
  • Living a clean, healthy lifestyle
  • How the Egyptians emphasized & tapped into the pineal gland
  • Specific crystals to work with

How To Awaken the Pineal Gland with Crystals ~ Part 2

Here’s the scoop on all the juicy resources I talked about in this week’s episode:

  • This is the link & video I refer to where I show you the water system I use & discuss why it’s so great. It’s called a PristineHydro Water system. I am not an affiliate nor do I get paid to tell you this. I paid full price for my own system. It’s expensive but I feel it’s so worth it & much better than any other system out there.
  • There are lots of non-fluoride toothpaste options. Here are a couple.
  • I recommend my friend Michelle for getting the BEST EVA Blue Lotus Flower Absolut. Her’s is top quality & you’ll just melt over how good it smells!

*As always – what you choose to consume is your choice & responsibility. Click here for more info & our official disclaimer.

So if you’re looking to bump your spirituality up to the next level, look to your pineal gland. You’ll notice such a difference.
