How to Cleanse Crystals | Simple Technique

Hibiscus Moon cleansing, Crystals 48 Comments

Today, I want to talk about how to energetically cleanse your crystals.

Not, physically clean them… because I did that over here a long while ago.

Now, I have a different take on that whole subject of cleansing your crystals.

**In fact, I have an older video/blog post about this but I decided it was high time to update it and give you my most up-to-date (& more condensed) info on this subject because so many people ask about this!**

So, let’s dive in!

How to Cleanse (Re-tune) Crystals
First of all, the whole idea of “cleansing” your crystals is one that I never resonated with.

When I first started learning about crystals, of course, I hit the books and a lot of people would talk about cleansing their crystals. And then especially when we took things online, I also remember seeing (way back in 2005 or something like that), a big movement towards everybody talking about crystals and cleansing.

Then YouTube came along and I recall seeing a lot of people talking about the topic again… and I was part of that crowd too, don’t get me wrong!

But it never really sat right with me because I was always wondering…
“If crystals can maintain their energetic stability so wellwhy do they need to be cleansed so often? Why are we using them as tools to help us if they are so vulnerable to energy themselves?”

Know what I mean?

In working with crystals more and more over the years, in researching and also working with our students; teaching and getting feedback from our alumni and even their clients, it became quite evident to me that the crystals did NOT need to be cleansed on an ongoing basis so much.

This all goes back to the very nature of crystal structure itself and a term that I call the dominant oscillary rate.
Vibration
Everything is vibration, baby.

Everything oscillates and has its own signature frequency.

We have a collection of various vibrational frequencies making up who we are as a physical body and as an energetic being as well. There’s a lot going on and as humans, we don’t have a lot of preciseness in how we’re built, especially if you look at our molecular makeup. Our vibrational frequencies are numerous and very random. We do have some liquid crystal going on but we’re not mostly made up of liquid crystal.

Whereas with an actual crystal…
(The whole definition of a crystal is that its molecules are built-in a very specific repeating geometric pattern; a precise lattice structure.)
there’s no randomness to a crystal.

There might be a glitch here and there but a crystal is made up of a precise repeating geometric pattern in the way that its molecules are arranged.

So because of that, it has a very stable vibration that it emits in an energetic bubble around itself. We call that bubble an energy torus.

At times, that oscillary rate or vibration can get knocked out of sync in a crystal by very specific high amplitude energetic events.  But it’s a rare event.Ours gets knocked out all the time very easily. It can

On the other hand,  our vibration gets knocked out all the time quite easily.

So, it has to be a very high amplitude with a lot of energy to knock the crystal out of its base vibrational frequency; some sort of very intense energy can do that. When that happens, the crystal will naturally realign itself back to its dominant oscillary rate, where it naturally wants to be, on its own, given some time.
Retuning
Now, if we want to facilitate that crystal getting back to its dominant oscillary rate more quickly, there’s something we can do:   I coined it retuning a number of years back b/c it does a better job explaining what’s actually happening. (You can liken this to “cleansing”.)

It’s basically like retuning an instrument, a guitar, a piano. I don’t call it “cleansing” because that has the connotation of the whole concept of doing it often, doing it on a frequent basis, like taking a bath and that’s not what I’m talking about here.

I get into tons more detail about this in my Certified Crystal Healing Course.  But just as an overview here, I’ll give you a really simple technique that you can easily do to retune your crystal when it’s necessary.

This DOES NOT need to be done all the time or if somebody simply touched your crystal, unless again, that person exposes your crystal to a really high amplitude; like high emotions; yelling, breaking things, manic behavior (could be negative or positive emotions): That sort of energy CAN knock that crystal out temporarily.

Once again, you can leave the crystal alone and it will gradually eventually go back to its “home-base” vibration on its own eventually. Perhaps after a few weeks or months.

Or you can facilitate this happening more quickly with my favorite and super-easy method…

Sound Acoustics
I like sound energy because it’s more practical and it’s much more effective from a scientific perspective.

Just use SOUND. Immerse your crystal(s) with loud sound – acoustic vibrations; a sound bath!

In my video, I’m using a tuning fork.

Sound effectively sends energy vibrations out into our environment that we can’t see, but we can hear and measure.

We’re constantly surrounded by vibrations of all different sorts that we’re not able to see or pick up with our other senses. We’re affected by them but we’re just not able to see them because they’re not visible light.

So those energy sound waves from the tuning fork went out into the environment, right? It affected me then it went through the crystal and agitated its vibration; jarred its dominant oscillary rate to snap back into alignment, back to its natural frequency.

This method is so flippin’ easy! You don’t:

  • have to do any kind of saltwater cleanse and worry about Mohs hardness or rusting, dissolving, etc.
  • need lug your whole crystal collection out into the moonlight; although I do really like that practice for the ceremonial effect and spiritual effect that it has on me. I really like it. But I don’t do it every single moon cycle.  I’m saying you don’t have to feel guilty if you skip it for six months.
  • have to worry about your crystals fading under intense sunlight
  • need to pick and move your entire colossal collection, just bring the sound source to them!

If you know your crystal needs it, sound is simply the easiest way.

By the way, you don’t have to use a tuning fork. It can be any loud sound/vibration. It can be music or any sound, but you want to turn it up LOUD so that the amplitude is HIGH. That means the energy is high.

You can also use something beautiful like a crystal singing bowl.

You can get the amplitude going really, really, high and you can actually FEEL the vibrations penetrating everything in the environment.

Now, people will often ask me:

  • What note should I use on the tuning fork?
  • What note should I use on the crystal bowl?

MY ANSWER: It doesn’t matter. 🙂
Because any sound is sound acoustic energy as long as its high amplitude… doesn’t matter what note or frequency it’s in.
You just want it to be high energy; i.e. LOUD, where you can feel it reverberating. It doesn’t have to be tearing down the house where you’d have your neighbors calling the police because your music is so loud 😉 but you want to just make sure that it’s penetrating the crystal lattice, jarring the vibrations/penetrating the crystal, and that will knock it back to its natural dominant oscillary rate.

Wondering how often to retune your crystals? I have an older pillar blog post over here all about that.

Check it out for yourself and give it a go.

I’d love to hear your take on this as well, so go ahead and post it in the comments below.  Have you used sound to retune your crystals? Or do you prefer another method?

A Crystal Mix to Fire up Your Creativity

Hibiscus Moon Crystals 6 Comments

creativity crystal mix

Ever feel like you’ve hit a creative dry spell or like you have nothing new to make, say, do? Today, I’m gonna to talk to you about a vibrational frequency combo we can use to give ourselves a boost of creativity when we really need it.

Ready?

OK, so this is for those of us that create… create anything, whether you’re writing a book or painting a painting or sewing something up — anything at all! We create in so many different glorious ways.

But, sometimes you run across periods of time where your creativity-well dries up, and we’ve all run into those times where you’re just plain blocked. You’ve hit the Creativity Wall. 🙁

Maybe you set aside a specific time to sit down and do your creative work, so you sit down and you can’t think of a single freakin’ thing to sculpt, you can’t think of what to write, to make; it’s just not flowing to you as you know it has in the past… you know, when you’re in the zone.

This often happens to me when I’m writing my crystal content. I strictly schedule out my week so I write on certain days; I don’t just go and do it when it strikes my fancy. I find sticking to a planned out schedule is what USUALLY works best for me and sticking to this system like glue is great for my boundaries and consistency, but it’s NOT always the best for inspiring creativity.  Yeah, there are those times when it just doesn’t happen and I sit down and my Creativity Muse is nowhere to be found.

Luckily, I do feel there are some things we can do, energetically, to help kind of coax that creativity back & get back into your Zone of Genius.

And of course, for me, that usually involves crystals!
Crystal Creativity Mix
I’ve spoken about Carnelian quite a bit before related to boosting creativity.

This stone is closely related to your sacral chakra, the second chakra. Carnelian is all about supporting and inviting in creative flow and allowing that creation energy to travel freely.

Using carnelian helps to balance out that chakra so its working at its best and gets those creative juices flowing again.

Another favorite crystal of mine for this is Spessartine Garnet (that’s the geometric-little number, top right crystal below). Also pictured below the garnet in order are:

  • orange calcite
  • honey calcite
  • carnelian (over to the left)

This specific garnet is one that supports not only the sacral chakra but also the 2 neighboring chakras; the root below it as well as the solar plexus above it. This crystal is all about attraction; both sexual as well as creative!

I have a little Spessartine Garnet, that I show you in the video that’s a natural geometric shape, it wasn’t carved. It so easily expresses its sacred geometry. All crystals have sacred geometry at their core, but this one easily expresses it. It’s obviously in the orange color family, that’s the specific light frequency that helps to boost our creativity.

So, say I’m sitting here in front of my computer & I really need that creativity mojo-boost right then, or I’m having a hard time with a creative block… here are a few ways I may choose to work with these crystals:

  • Just place them nearby while you work
  • Do a quick 5 minute creative meditation with it while holding it in your hand
  • Or plop a non-toxic crystal choice into water and make a gem elixir drink or tea.  (Carnelian is very safe choice for doing that. 😉 )

Then I’ll also layer in other vibrational frequencies to pack a more powerful punch.
Essential Oils
My favorites for layering up the vibrational frequencies are specific essential oils that correspond & play well with Carnelian + Spessartine Garnet. I have three of them I feature in my video and I usually do all 3 in my own special little blend. I’ll burn them in an oil burner or diffuse them in a diffuser. If you’d like to learn more about playing with essential oils you can join me in my doTERRA Essential Oils Facebook group over here.

My three choices for this are:

  • Sweet Orange (or you could just go with regular orange, tangerine, or a blend like Citrus Bliss… those are all sort of interchangeable in my mind for the vibrational frequency aspect of it)
  • Bergamot
  • Jasmine

You can even dilute them with some fractionated coconut oil & make a gorgeous perfume out of it; plop in a few carnelian gemstone chips and watch how that turns up the dial on your creativity!! These scents together with the vibrational frequency of the Spessartine Garnet and the Carnelian—oh my goodness, it’s just absolutely amazing!

Light Frequency
Something else I wanted to add (that I forgot to mention in the video) that I like to do is to bathe my immediate environment in the orange light frequency since it carries the specific vibrational wavelengths of creativity. A very easy way to do this is to use an easy color changing light bulb like this one!

I talk about using these in crystal healing sessions with students in my Certified Crystal Healing Course and it’s always a big hit!

Give some of these ideas a go if you run into one of those creative blocks, and let me know how it goes for you? Please tell me about it in the comments below. 🙂

Which Crystal is the Most Powerful?

Hibiscus Moon Crystals, Videos 45 Comments

Today, I want to address a question that I get often, which is,
“Which crystals are the most powerful to work with?”

It’s a question, at first… I used to kind of say,
“Well, that all depends,”
but now I’ve actually come across some info, done some research + some work on my own… and I’ve changed my answer:
Yes, I have some crystals, or A CRYSTAL, that I do feel is the MOST powerful.
Rather recently, I did a couple of blog posts on some scientific properties of crystals… and they were pretty popular posts. It seemed that people were really interested in finding out more about these properties, and those specific properties are:

  • piezoelectricity
  • pyroelectricity
  • triboluminescence

All 3 of these are properties that have to do with electricity or voltage in some form or another and I found that certain crystals have two or more of these properties. I also noted that seemed to correspond to how powerful I’ve seen these crystals to be in people’s lives as catalysts for information.

Let’s just do a quick re-cap. I’m not going to dive deep into these things because you can jump over here and over to this blog post where I really detail it out for you.
Piezoelectricity
Piezoelectricity refers to a crystal’s ability to produce voltage when pressurized.

Certain crystals will actually produce a voltage when their crystal lattice is under pressure of any sort and that’s why we can use them in different ways in technology.

Some crystals that are known to do this are quartz, topaz + any type of tourmaline.

When I say “quartz”, I mean all types of quartz—not just clear quartz; so that includes amethyst, agate, citrine, rose quartz, Auralite 23, what have you.

Pyroelectricity
“Pyro” means fire, so it has to do with temperature. Specifically, it’s the ability of a crystal to produce voltage when heated or cooled. And quartz, again, has the ability to do this, as does tourmaline…. any kind of tourmaline. Even, indicolite, which is a teal blue or blue tourmaline—really beautiful.

(This piece shown below is a closeup of the indicolite I feature in my above video.)

There are other crystals that qualify, but there are reasons why I’m bringing those specific crystals up. 😉 We’ll get to that in a sec.
Triboluminescence
I demonstrated triboluminescence in a video in this blog post a little while back, which is the property of the crystal to actually be able to produce light when it’s struck.

And it doesn’t just produce light on the outside, like friction blowing out a spark, but internally, as well as externally; it produces this flash of light! So it’s not simply explained away as friction.
It’s actually a property that’s not well understood by science. They’re actually not yet able to fully explain why or how it’s happening.
Crystals that are able to express triboluminescence are: quartz, diamond, and fluorite.

So, Which Crystal is the Most Powerful Crystal?
The word “powerful” is a very subjective & relative term. Isn’t it?

But I think I “get” what people mean when they ask me that… and you probably do too.

I do feel that crystals that have the properties that I’ve discussed here are more powerful than crystals that don’t. And that just simply comes from my experience working with them, research that I’ve done and the experience of my 1000’s of students & graduates of my Certified Crystal Healer Course who’ve used them in their practices with clients. I’ve noted that many experience profound transformation in working with these crystals and… bonus they’re all crystals that are relatively easy to find.

If you’ll notice, quartz possesses all three of these properties I mentioned here:

  • piezoelectricity
  • pyroelectricity
  • triboluminescence.

It has other properties as well. In addition, it’s a silicate mineral, which happen to be the most abundant minerals on the Earth’s crust. (More than 90% of our planet’s crust is composed of silicate minerals.)

I feel like that’s no coincidence… that quartz, in all its many forms—rose quartz, amethyst, citrine, green aventurine, clear quartz— is so accessible to us; both plentiful & relatively low-cost.

All the jaspers all the agates—these are all quartz-based minerals that we can work with and probably the one mineral we work with most often, because again, it’s one of the most attractive & most abundantly found on our planet; easily accessible to us.

So, to finally answer the question:
In my opinion, quartz (any kind of quartz), is the “A” number one most powerful crystal, and then 2nd would be tourmaline, and then thirdly I’d place topaz.
I feel crystals that have these special properties are the most powerful ones because this allows the crystals to more easily tap into the body’s voltage and polarity. In my Certified Crystal Healer Course I teach more on the physics behind how/why it works.

Again, “what crystal is most powerful” can be up to personal interpretation… it’s a matter of opinion & experiences and it can be very subjective based on the work that you’ve done and other crystals or minerals that you’ve worked with that you found to be very powerful. Maybe malachite is the most powerful one for you? I’m not saying that your experience is wrong; I’m just giving my opinion on this subject here since I’m so often asked this question and I wanted a place to park my answer to refer people to.

I’d love to open up a discussion about this!  What’s the most powerful crystal for you? Please share in the comments below. I can’t wait to read your response. 🙂

The Story Behind Lemurian Crystals

Hibiscus Moon Crystals, Videos 47 Comments

Today’s video is all about Lemurian Crystals!

Watch my video & scroll down for more sparkly details…

There seems to be a lot of confusion going on about what a Lemurian Crystal is, or a Lemurian Seed Crystal…yes, they are slightly different—I’ve even recently gone into several stores and have seen signs that display, “Lemurian Crystals,” (because it’s a super-hot term right now)… but what they’re really displaying next to the sign that says, “Lemurian Crystals,” are not Lemurians.

Case in point…these are quartz points, but not Lemurians!

So I want to wade through all of that confusion & set the record straight here today.
What are Lemurian Crystals?
The term “Lemurian crystal” was first coined by a famous crystal author whom I highly respect, Katrina Raphaell.

She started writing crystal books in the 80s, (In fact I recommend several of her books over here), and she had a newsletter too, which I don’t think she does any longer.  It was around the early 90’s, when Katrina Raphaell put out 1 of her informative newsletters where this term was first introduced.  (I’ve done some research on it and it seems to be that is where the term was first coined.)

The term “Lemurian” references the land of Lemuria, which is known to be a place like Atlantis—actually it preceded Atlantis.  If you want to dive deeper into learning more about these places, this book is a great resource.

So Lemuria is said to have existed in various different places; to have existed or exists now in another dimension, or perhaps in the area of the Hawaiian Islands. (Having spent a lot of time there myself I have a deep inner knowing that there is indeed a very strong Lemurian connection in Hawaii.) There’s tons of different info on that you can research but that’s outside the scope of what I want to talk about here today.

So, Katrina Raphaell channelled that the Lemurian crystals were coded with very specific information by the people of Lemuria & left here for us to discover & learn from.

And according to Katrina Raphaell, the Lemurian Seed Crystals were kind of like “seeds of information”  planted or left in one location only; one specific spot, known as the Diamantina Mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil:

Now, I keep hearing about Lemurians coming from different areas of the world, but I’m going to go to the source on this (Katrina Raphaell) and I’m going to trust in her teachings that the crystals can only come from Minas Gerais, Brazil to be authentic Lemurians…unless I find other compelling information resonates with me & that tells me differently.

What are Lemurian Crystals used for?
Why all this hoopla about Lemurian Seed Crystals?

Well, they happen to be very important tools. I can attest to that. 🙂

They’re a crystal tool meant specifically for the energy healer, energy worker, or light worker.
…meant to retrieve hidden information; they’re actually encoded with this information.

They also invite us to receive very specific information for & about our planet, for Mama Earth.  Like, how to heal the planet; basically like the care instructions for Earth. We’re in great need of that, aren’t we? These crystals also serve as an ideal communication tool between planet Earth and the rest of the cosmos.

Keep in mind, it’s said that the more they’re used, the more powerful they become!

And they’re best used as a personal healing tool for the energy healer.
How to ID a Lemurian
Lemurians can come in all different sizes, but the shape should always be a tapered wand shape—a little wider at the base and more tapered at the end.

There’s a difference between Lemurian Crystals and Lemurian Seed Crystals.

  • Lemurian Seed Crystals have an alternating pattern of a frosted side on the shaft and then a smooth, very transparent side, then a frosted side and a very transparent side, alternating all the way around.
  • Plain Lemurian Crystals will have a random pattern. For instance, one side is frosted, smooth, frosted, frosted, frosted, smooth. Or even all smooth or all frosted.

Where’s this information encoded?
Another characteristic of a Lemurian Crystal will be that it has rough, prominent, horizontal striations on some sides of the shaft. But you will not only see them; in order for it to be a true Lemurian, you need to be able to feel them!

[caption id="attachment_7286" align="aligncenter" width="600"] smokey pink lemurian[/caption]
Run your finger alongside without looking and if you can feel those “ladder rung” striations, then it’s a Lemurian, (if it meets all the other criteria.)
Lemurian Crystals also come in different colors!  (I have a video & blog post where I really dove deep on the different colors, what they mean, and why they get the different colors, where they come from & you can watch that over here).

I hope this blog post/video helped to clarify some of the confusion & mystery around Lemurian Crystals.  If you have more info to contribute, I would love to hear it, so please post in the comments below.

Do you have any Lemurian Crystals in your collection? Have you looked to see if they pass the criteria I listed?  Can you tell if it’s a Lemurian or a Lemurian Seed Crystal?  Tell us in the comments below.

Crystal Blessings & Happy Lemurian hunting,
