Can Crystal Color Determine it’s Meaning? & Who made up the BUNK that crystal energy can be based on color!?

Hibiscus Moon chakras, Crystal Healing, Crystals, science 15 Comments

This question came in & I think it is so funny how this is worded:

Who made up the BUNK that crystal energy can be based on color?

Ha! Here’s the vid…

Yeah! So where’d this bunk come from?
All right, so I don’t know that it’s necessarily a “who made it up” type a’ thing.

Actually, this whole concept of color & crystals aligning with different energy centers throughout our bodies & resonating with different organs & glands has been around for thousands & thousands of years & is a common thread through many different cultures. It goes back to ancient teachings.

And it’s actually something that we can scientifically back up & even measure in some instances (I get much deeper into that in my Certified Crystal Healer Course).

Rather than someone “making it up” I feel it’s actually a case of many different cultures tapping in at the same time to a particular teaching or Universal Knowing…a collective tapping in of collective consciousness (or unconsciousness) & all coming up with the idea at the same time. This has been known to happen with scientists , inventors, discoverers, etc.; actually where 2 different scientists in different parts of the world will all of a sudden make identical discoveries…like this vibrational wave comes through and then they will both tap into the same discovery or invention at the same time! Then there’ll be these accusations flying around that someone stole it from someone else. But back in the days when the only way to share information was via a letter on a ship, that was most likely not the case at all, but instead, that they tapped in vibrationally at the same time to the same collective idea. Pretty cool, right? (Biologist, Rupert Sheldrake has based his theory of the Morphogenic Field on this concept.)

…or perhaps “others” brought that knowledge here to Earth at one time. (If you’re interested in that look into the teachings of  Zecharia Sitchin)
Back to the Crystal Bunk
So, about different crystals & mineral energy being based on their color: for instance, the teachings that say all blue crystals are for gentle calming, all pink crystals are for love, etc.

I don’t feel that is always 100% the way that it goes every single time.

I feel that not every single green-hued crystal is going to exude the same exact sort of energy. However, due to specific light frequencies of the green wavelength many of your green crystals will be aligned to heart chakra energy to prosperity, to health, to vitality. Not every single green crystal (due to many other variables), but many will generally fall into those general categories.

In addition,  keep in mind that not every single person is going to get the same “feeling” from an emerald due to individual varying vibrational frequencies of the person.

See, I feel that around 85% of the people will tap into the same vibrational frequency, but I’ve said it time & time again we all have a different vibrational frequency slightly different on average to each other. That’s going to not allow everybody to neatly fit into “the rigid box” of everyone picking up the same exact energy from a green emerald in the same way. Get what I mean?
What is Crystal Color?
In order answer this question we need to understand what color is.

Color is a visual representation what we are able to visually perceive of electro-magnetic frequency (light). We cannot see all light on the electro-magnetic spectrum. We’re only able to see a very narrow band on that spectrum. And we call that band visible light.

Now, I feel that some people can see a little bit more into the infrared, some people can see a little bit more into ultraviolet & beyond (we know some animals can do this, crystals pick up others parts of the spectrum)…the see’ers! But most of us can see the visible light band & that’s it.

So, there’s all of this stuff over here outside the band that are “colors” that we can’t see.

So as I said, when you see green that is a very specific light frequency. So it’s a very specific wavelength of energy that you are able to see, but it doesn’t just manifest as visible light. It has different octaves that repeat themselves & can be felt & represented in different ways.

What you’re seeing and we talk about “color” is a very specific vibrational frequency.

Now, here’s the kicker!

So, that crystal that looks “green” to you isn’t actually green. In fact, it’s every other color BUT green. What I mean is that it looks green to you b/c it’s absorbing every other light frequency except the green one & reflecting the green. It’s bouncing off the green wavelength.

So, that’s the specific frequency that it’s bouncing off! It’s the green frequency that if you’re able to pick up or perceive in whatever way you tend to do that, with your eyes, with your hands…or you enter the electromagnetic field of that crystal & that’s the energy you’re going to interact with: green energy, Baby!

It makes sense that other stones that are within the same color vicinity will have similar but slightly different energies.

And there you go…hope that explains in a general, but scientific way where this bunk comes from. 😉

Do you feel that all crystals of a color all affect us in the same way? Do you have experiences or stories to share on this topic? Please post in the comments below!

COLOR OF THE YEAR: MARSALA ~ 2015 ~ Rubellite, Ruby + Cinnabar

Hibiscus Moon chakras, Crystals, Videos 10 Comments

Hola Crystal Hottie!
Today we are going to talk about Pantone’s 2015 Color of the Year, which happens to be Marsala. Over the past few years, I’ve done a video with this theme, finding a crystal that embodies that specific light frequency.

  • 2014- Radiant Orchid
  • 2013- Emerald

Pantone describes Marsala as a “naturally robust & earthy wine red.”

Since making this video, I’ve discovered that yes, Marsala is indeed a wine produced in the region surrounding the Italian city of Marsala in Sicily.

Man! Marsala was a tough color.

Yeah, it was hard to find a crystal that was that exact color that Marsala is because a Pantone Color is very specific. I swear, while I was sitting down to make up this video, I could not think of any others! Was drawing a total blank.

Rubellite
Rubellite is actually a ruby-red color of tourmaline; hence its name! Tourmaline comes in almost every color of the rainbow.

The specimen I show in the video is actually a rubellite in clear quartz matrix & it’s a lighter color of the rubellite. It’s actually bordering on pink tourmaline. The one in the photo below is a better representation for “Marsala”.

  • Rubellite is known for its ability to heal the heart physically & emotionally, while also connecting you with the Universal Heart that connects us all. It’s a great crystal for balancing both the heart & root chakra
  • It’s a beryllium aluminum silicate, as all tourmalines are & has a Mohs hardness of 7-8, so relatively hard

Ruby
Ruby actually comes closer to the Marsala color then my specific specimen of Rubellite that I showed in the video.

  • a stone of passion & strength, it also helps boost our life force energy & aligns with our root chakra
  • Ruby is an aluminum oxide & is a variety of corundum. It’s quite tough with a Mohs hardness of 9 (10 being the hardest)

Cinnabar
Here’s a precious cinnabar specimen I took a photo of on dolomite & quartz that was on display at the Tucson Gem & Mineral Show….price tag was $25,000 smackers! Gorgeous but muchos expensive.

  • a whimsical stone of magic, insight & deep transformation that aligns with our root & third eye chakra
  • a mercury sulfide mineral, this makes it a toxic stone so be sort careful handling it & definitely no ingesting gem elixirs created with it. It’s relatively “soft” with a Mohs hardness of only 2-2.5

Those are my picks for the Color of the Year & Stone Combo. I would love it if you have other crystals in mind that would go along with Marsala, (really coulda used your help pre-video on this one)…please tell us about it in the comments below!

What are the Best Crystals For Aquarius?

Hibiscus Moon astrology, chakras, Videos 18 Comments

So  it’s that time of year for you Crystal Hottie Aquarians to celebrate Life!
Let’s Talk about a Crystal for Aquarians

I am not claiming that I am an astrology expert. At all.

I know about my own sign and I follow it and do see a lot of the alignments in it. But that’s it.

So why am I giving astrological advice here at all?

Well, I get the astrological/crystal correspondence question quite often so I thought I’d start doing a series of these videos.

The person who I follow along with when it comes to crystals-astrology-alignments is Edgar Cayce.

A while ago he came up with certain crystal alignments that went along with astrological signs. In fact, I learned that info from this here book:

Please don’t ask me about commercial “birthstones” b/c most of that info comes from various gemological societies for the purpose of selling gemstones. Although, some are reported to have come from ancient teachings, I don’t know which have & which have not. But if you do know of a source for that info, please let me know about it!! I see a lot more sense in what Edgar Casey did with his astrological alignments than the usual birth stones we hear about.

Edgar Casey recommended Garnet for Aquarians

Now there are several different types of garnet but the one that I see most often recommended that kind of seems to make most sense to me is Almandine Garnet. And, it’s a gorgeous deep, deep, deep red stone; usually has no transparency in it; looks almost black! Staring into a larger piece, with the sunlight gleaming off of it, I think it looks like a glittering dazzling deep burgundy galaxy forming & organizing.

When almandines are tumbled, they look like black cherries. Just Beautiful!

[caption id="attachment_15545" align="aligncenter" width="600"] A natural (yet polished) almandine garnet dodecahedron expressing its inherent sacred geometry![/caption]

Aquarius’ date range is from January 20th – February 18th. It’s a water sign. After looking over the personality traits that align with Aquarians, I feel like the reason why Edgar Casey chose garnet is because it’s a root chakra stone & its quite grounding.

It’s also a stone all about strength + security.

AND about balancing that root chakra.

Mr. Cayce most likely chose this stone to provide a balancing effect for Aquarians, helping to counter-balance that water sign up with some earth element.

Garnet is an aluminum silicate & it’s relatively hard on the Mohs Hardness Scale; anywhere between a 6.5-7.5. So you can find lots of garnet jewelry pieces making it very convenient to wear.

Do  you have other stones that you prefer to work with  as an Aquarian or for Aquarians that you know?  Please post it in the comments below.

Why a Chakra-Focused Crystal Grid is Sexy

Hibiscus Moon chakras, Crystal Grids 2 Comments

*snicker, snicker*

Sexy? YES! B/c squeaky clean balanced chakras are sexy. Yes INDEEDY!!

There are so many of ways to invite sexy health & vitality into our bodies & on several different levels: emotional, physical & spiritual. So, how about a novel way of working with your chakras? Hmmmmm?

I love using crystals to work with the energy of our chakras. Yeah, yeah…most of us know that crystal healing involves working with crystals & the chakras in a physical way, but I’d like to present a slightly different way here today.

Several years ago I actually had a student who created a chakra crystal grid!

Now, I’m the self-proclaimed Queen of Crystal Grids…but this was new to me. I had never thought of doing this before! BTW, I’m always so grateful to my students for teaching me so much. It’s through their eyes & minds that I become a better teacher…but I digress!

So I thought this was a wonderful idea. (She was kind enough to allow me to share this photo over the years of her lovely solar plexus crystal grid):

Genius! Absolutely brilliant!

See, she was having problems with her solar plexus. We had talked about different ways of balancing the solar plexus & doing the chakra balancing as I had taught her in the course.

After having learned how to work with crystal grids in our Certified Crystal Healer course, she decided all on her own:

“You know what? I’m going to do a crystal grid to balance my solar plexus, to balance & reclaim my personal power.”

Yep! That’s sexy.

Here’s what she did step by step:

  • printed out a solar plexus Sanskrit symbol in yellow. She used that as her crystal grid template (placed under the black cloth above)
  • used citrine & tiger’s eye to make the crystal grid
  • also printed out another picture of a chakra symbol & put that in a little picture frame
  • added a yellow lemon-scented candle
  • used essential oils that vibrated with the solar plexus chakra: lemon, lemongrass, peppermint, grapefruit (she used these to anoint the crystals, candle, the cloths, etc.)
  • added a picture of herself (placed under the center stone)
  • hand-wrote down a solar plexus affirmation. Similar to: “I have a healthy self-esteem. I am strong-willed. I express myself with confidence.”… affirmations that help strengthen the solar plexus & she placed that in the center of her crystal grid.

She activated it & everyday she would sit nearby & do a little meditation with the grid; just working with it for a few minutes, giving it a little TLC, a little care & some attention & emotion. That’s how I always recommend you work with a crystal grid. (P.S. If you want to learn more on how to do that, I wrote a book about it). 😉

After about just 1 week, she was so excited with the result she had gotten from doing this, she emailed me the pictures & told me what she had been doing. She said her confidence had bloomed & she was feeling so strong in her solar plexus. Her digestion had also greatly improved (a direct link to your solar plexus chakra). She felt that it had opened, cleansed & balanced & was channeling her full inner-strength!

She goes, “This is so great you need to tell your students about this!”

I was blown away & absolutely amazed. I thought it was the greatest idea ever; diving into the crystal energies & tapping into the power of a crystal grid to clearly convey your intention to source energy! Getting Source Energy in on the whole thing, communicating her clear intention across space & time, directing energy appropriately. POWERFUL STUFFS!

If you know someone (or yourself) working to balance a particular chakra, share this sexy-technique with them by sharing this blog post. They (or you) may have a powerful break-through as well. 🙂
