Amethyst Healing Properties, Correspondences and Meanings

amethyst

One stone that’s always on the top of my list is Amethyst. By the way — if you want to check out my Top 10 Must-Have Crystal List, head over here.

Let’s talk about Amethyst healing properties, correspondences, and meanings.

This is going to be a really comprehensive geological and metaphysical conversation about probably every kind of amethyst you can think of, every kind you’ve heard of, including everything I know about amethyst.

Question of the Day:

Was Amethyst your first crystal? Yes or no?

Please go ahead and answer this in the comments at the bottom of this page.

Amethyst

Amethyst is a really popular mineral because we all love the beautiful, striking purple color, right?

For many of us, it’s usually our very first crystal or what attracts us to the crystal realm.

Amethyst is really just the purple variety of quartz. I’ll explain what makes it different than clear quartz below.

Spiritually Enhancing

Amethyst is spiritually enhancing, that’s another reason why so many of us love it and it’s a favorite. It’s … Read More

My Current Favorites | Crystals & Otherwise

current_favs_featured_blog_image

It’s been a while since I’ve done a video like this … and I’ve noticed these have become quite popular now…for people to do “monthly favorites”.

Personally, I kind of waffle back & forth on if I should do one of these again OR not.

It would be great if you could definitely let me know in the comments  (down at the bottom of this page), what you think… if I should do more of this? If this is sparkly enough for you?  Also, if you have recommendations for other stuff I should check out, please share with me!

First Favorite!  You know it has to be a crystal to kick this off right?

Crystals

My favorite crystal right now is Papagoite, and I just finally got a hold of some.:D

This is a difficult mineral to find, much like Ajoite.  You may have heard me go on and on about Ajoite being very difficult to find in a recent blog post, They both come from the same area; the Messina mine in South Africa, but Papagoite is even more rare than Ajoite!

I’ve just recently got two pieces;  … Read More

What are the best Crystals for Busting Bad Habits?

Bad habits.

We all have them.

They say it takes an average of 66 days to break a bad habit.

And 21 days to create a new one.

Hey! That totally works in our favor: It only takes less than a 1/3 of the time to create a new good habit than it does to break a bad one. 🙂

Annnnd, you’ll probably be happy to know that we can use crystals to help us along with that task.

So let’s get to talking about crystal suggestions for breaking our bad habits:

A lot of times people will say something like:

  • I need to quit smoking
  • I need to stop biting my nails
  • I need to get into a habit of not eating junk food, or stop being lazy and “couch-potatoing” when I get home from work and get to the gym

Whatever it is that you consider to be a bad habit that you want to break out of, any bad habit you can think of…I’ve probably heard it before & have partaken in a few myself.

Of course, I’ve had my own bad habits that I’ve had to kind of bust out of.  Not exercising, eating poorly, gossiping. I used … Read More

Sparkly Ideas for Using Crystals with Children

Hola! Crystal Blessings Everyone!

Today we are going to talk about…

& I’m so excited about this one, because I get asked about this a lot, and it’s one of my favorite subjects to talk about, it’s:

Crystals for Children

Sometimes I’m asked what crystals are good for kids to bring with them to school, to calm down their energy because sometimes, some  children have a lot more energy than others.

I don’t feel like it’s a big problem (having been a former teacher myself).  Some environments welcome that wild energy and some environments don’t. This “higher” energy may be more evident if your child is an indigo child. They have a different way of viewing &interacting in the world than how our traditional school system is really setup, right?

SIDENOTE: Here’s a great book that I recommend if you’d like to learn more about indigo children:

Some teachers out in the field nowadays have a solid understanding of the whole indigo child thing (we’re headed in the right direction at least)…and they’re on board & realize that there is more than one way to behave … Read More
