crystal healer interview

Hi Crystal Hottie!

I’ve got another “Crystal Healer Interview” today! Yes, another fresh, new & inspiring crystal perspective from someone else living & breathing this crystal path.

Well, I’m excited to let you meet Certified Crystal Healer Amber Jacobs-Southgate. We worked closely with each other in my Blue Sapphire & Emerald Levels & she’s now gone all the way as a Hibiscus Moon Advanced Crystal Master.

I think she’s a fairy incarnate, really.

Look at her!

Magical Amber shares with us her love of crystals + passion for learning while working with crystals to connect with her guides.

Here’s Amber…

♥♥♥
What brought you to the world of crystal healing?
The start of my own healing and spiritual journey. Around 6 years ago I started to have reiki, the lady who I went to used crystals during the healing. I started to collect some small crystals slowly, however 3 years ago my obsession began to take hold as my collection began to get more serious.

Then, I broke my back in a car accident just under 2 years ago which propelled my healing and spiritual journey. Literally, my life began to change at quite a pace. My guides no longer wanted me to take my time, they were pushing me forward onto my life path and brought me to the space where I am today.
What crystal has had the biggest effect on you?
Amethyst for its healing and spiritual advancements (I was bought a beautiful amethyst geode by my husband 2 years ago for Christmas) and clear quartz for helping me to realize what it was I wanted in life (this crystal was one which I sat with during meditation most often after I broke my back) and given it is such a highly programmable crystal I know that it helped me on so many levels – it’s hard to choose just one crystal!

Selenite is close behind these two, it has such a beautiful energy which lifts me in my work with the Angels, it really helped me to connect with the angelic realm and I became hooked on it during my healing too. I have 2 stunning selenite lamps which remind me of ice castles as well as helping to cleanse the rooms they live in (my healing room and my bedroom).

What do others in your life think about the path you are on?
There are some who are skeptical, my husband is starting to understand more and to see how much this means to me. It’s more than a collection of crystals it’s an intensely spiritual way of life.

This is who I am rather than just something I do and it’s never going to stop, this is so important to me.

I feel so lucky to have found crystals and to have been able to bring so many of them not only into my own life but also the lives of others.
What do you think made the biggest difference to you on this path?
Meditation with my crystals.
Through sitting with my crystals and simply relaxing into the moment I began feeling my guides and angels with me.
Through using the appropriate crystals during meditation such as selenite, angelite and angel aura to name a few examples my crown chakra was opened more and my third eye opened – this has all helped me so much in my life.

I’ve been healing so many areas of my life, and working on healing the past – so many traumatic events which have affected me. Meditation has been key in enabling my moments of realization, understanding, forgiveness and ultimate release.
How do you navigate being a crystal healer and a mama on a daily basis?
My babies are 19 and 15 so I have less navigating to do but it’s all about balance and compromise.  Now that my children are able to live their own lives with less of my time it’s been a great way for me to continue my journey. It’s a little like being reborn!

I must confess that I’ve told my husband that if I had to choose him or the crystals and in particular my spiritual work then I’d have to choose the spiritual work. It’s who I am. It’s why I am on this planet.

I’ve been reincarnated so many times, lived through so much in those past lives and all of this has been leading up to this moment. I am ready to help others, to be a powerful lightworker, healer and teacher. I’ve been ready for longer than I realized.

Do any ridicule you for being interested in crystal healing? If so, how do you handle that?
I’ve had some people make comments but I just let them know it’s all about personal preference and journey.

If they’re ready to hear me out with regards to the science behind crystals and the effects my crystals have had on my clients, as well as me, then I will tell them.  Otherwise, I will simply respect their opinions and ask that they do the same.

I still currently work full-time in London, my workplace is not the kind of place to be open to crystals and spiritual work really…so I’ve had some comments but I simply answer questions and explain different rationale to those who ask. I feel that they accept my beliefs now and seem to ridicule me less and less (at least to my face anyway) but then perhaps that is because they see how I have changed over the years of working there – and all for the better absolutely.
What is your go-to crystal for grounding?
Smokey Quartz.

I find black tourmaline a little too heavy for me. I do like hematite as well but smokey quartz is a beautiful gentle energy  and I have a stunning ring I wear often.

What is the primary way you utilize crystals in your practice?
Chakra balancing, crystal prescriptions for stress relief and self esteem issues which seem to be really common issues for my clients.

If anyone I know has issues or problems or becomes ill I will always make up a mojo bag of crystals for them.

My dad had skin cancer diagnosed and I gave him a little bag of beauties which included seraphinite, shungite, selenite and amethyst. He’s been given the all clear after using a cream (he refused an operation to remove the cancer which could have meant he could have gotten worse). Whether the crystals helped or not may not be scientifically provable but I believe they were helpful.
From where do you draw inspiration in your crystal practice?
My guides and the Angels inspire me and I feel inspired in life, drawing from everything and everyone around me. Hibiscus Moon is an amazing teacher, I love they way she encourages her students to use intuition in their work and to go with whatever feels right within.

When I was taking the Certified Crystal Healer course I felt only encouragement and value.
I felt that I was absolutely growing with confidence through each and every lesson. It was an amazing experience.
I have also connected deeply with my past life in Atlantis. This has enabled me to connect at a deeper level with the crystals and I definitely feel that many of my personal crystals have been with me during past lives. I keep 2 collections – one is for myself and one collection is purely for healing others. I feel that this is a healthy way of keeping boundaries at the moment particularly given the fact that I’ve been healing so much of myself too.

Take us through a typical workday for you as a crystal healer.
I get up and meditate, connect with my guides, clear and cleanse the healing room and make sure it’s ready, full of relaxing and healing energy.

It’s a sacred space in itself and I invite my guides, the angels, archangels, ascended masters and various light beings to work with me. I ask them to help me to come from the heart, to let go of ego and not allow ego to get in the way of what is best for my clients.

I look after myself first and foremost each day and then help my clients. That way I know I’m giving my best too.

I only have 3 clients a day maximum so that I can really take my time with them and make the experience all about and for them.

I also receive healing regularly too, that’s so important – I practice what I preach and make sure I live life as an example as much as I possibly can.

Hey hey, Crystal Hottie!

And we’ve got a few Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healers & Advanced Crystal Masters who are so generously sharing their stories with us here on my blog.

I’m super-thrilled to introduce you to Certified Crystal Healer, Christina Borger as she shares how she does crystal therapy. She steps outside the usual recommendations and teaches us a bit about her unique methods. 🙂

♥♥♥
What crystal has had the biggest effect on you?
That has actually changed pretty dramatically depending on where I’m at in life.

I’ve been fortunate enough to have been around a good variety of stones and crystals from an early age and when I look back at what I was drawn to and when, it gives an interesting chronicle of my spiritual/emotional development.

For instance, when I was a kid I was really into Tiger’s Eye. At that point in my life I felt really vulnerable and exposed. The tiger’s eye made me feel strong and safe, like I could handle whatever came my way. This was way before I had any idea that crystals could be used that way. I just knew that I loved them and it made me feel good to hold them and look at them.

As a teenager, I lost interest in the tiger’s eye and I was really drawn to amethyst and rose quartz. That was definitely the point when I needed the most calming and love.♥ It was also the time when I was really starting to notice my psychic abilities and I do feel like having amethyst around me enhanced that. The love of Amethyst has stayed with me for a long time. Although I don’t use it in my practice or on myself any more often than I use other stones, it is the one that I seem to end up surrounding myself in. My entire house is filled with Amethyst cathedrals and plates!

As a younger adult, I was very drawn to moss agate. I still am to a good extent. I feel like this was the time when the Earth and Elementals were trying to draw me back after a long absence.  As I child, I’d had a very deep connection to the Earth and was outside constantly. Even now, there is nothing that happens to me that a little time outside won’t fix.

But I had moved into a different sort of spiritual practice that was taking me deep within myself and I was doing a significant amount of self-healing in addition to exploring the mysteries of the Universe.
I feel like the Moss Agate was calling me to not forget that my home is here on the Earth as well as in the Stars and telling me that I needed to ground myself in the Earth and Elemental realms as part of my spiritual evolution too.
These days I’m primarily drawn to Danburite. Only time will tell where it leads, but I have been working more and more with my Spirit Guides and the Ascended Masters and the Danburite has been very helpful to me in making those connections.
How do you navigate being a crystal healer and a mama on a daily basis?
Being a crystal healer really enhances my time with my daughter (and her friends!).

My daughter (now 6) is growing up in a house where grabbing a crystal for almost anything is commonplace. She gives them to her friends, uses them on her dolls, makes and drinks gem elixirs, and uses crystals herself when she has issues. She also sleeps with a giant rose quartz heart and an angel carved from angelite, which keeps her from being scared of the dark.

Since I have a rock shop as well, I’m always giving out free crystals to the neighborhood kids when I have something I think they might like. Most are not aware of the metaphysical properties and I don’t try to tell them about them either. I think at that age, unless you live in a home where these practices are considered normal and accepted, there is no need to foster anything more than the genuine love and appreciation for the crystals that they can discover within themselves.

The kids at my daughter’s school, however, are a different story. She goes to a Waldorf school and most of the families are at least open to alternative therapies and many practice them themselves. The teachers all have amethyst cathedrals and other large crystals in the classroom and often borrow them from my store to use. For instance, right now I have these huge chunks of black tourmaline that are filled with mica inclusions and I am loaning them out to the teachers who are going to use them in the classroom for grounding and transmuting negativity.

What is the primary way you utilize crystals in your practice?
I will do chakra balancing layouts from time-to-time, especially when a client is new and I’m getting to know them, but I really prefer to pick one specific issue and really focus on working through it. In that circumstance I will typically chose one large crystal in conjunction with essential oils, Reiki and guided visualization. How exactly this all works together varies from client to client.

Here’s an example; I have a really big piece of rough green calcite that clients with heart chakra issues respond really well to. It’s too big to place on the body, so I will have the client lay down on his/her side and I will place the stone on the massage table right up against the heart chakra.♥

While they are relaxing into the energy, I will massage their hands and feet (I am a licensed massage therapist) with whatever oil feels appropriate. I often use “Heart Aroma Oil” by Mountain Rose Herbs, or the “Joy” or “Release” essential oil blends by Young Living. The massage and aromas really help the client to relax and let in the healing energy.

At that point, I will usually do some Reiki or walk them through a guided meditation if I feel called to do so. I keep this process relatively short, because I have found that many clients will actually start to feel a dull ache in the chakra if I let them sit with the stone for 20 minutes or more. I think it’s because the energy of the stone is so strong that it will cause them to release more than they may be ready to, so I keep this treatment to 5-15 minutes depending on the client.

With that type of session, I’d also use a really strong grounding stone like lodestone, because the healing can be so intense. After the session I will typically give the client a drink that is a decoction of herbs (specific to their needs) infused with rose quartz and clear quartz. With heart chakra issues I generally prefer a Lunar infusion, if possible, because it is more soothing to the emotional body.

Lately, I’ve also been really drawn to using opals with clients.

Up until the last couple of years, I hadn’t really considered using them, but now they seem to come up a lot for me and I have really enjoyed using them in my practice. These are “common opals”, not “precious opals” which have a much more intense energy. Common opals have lovely, gentle energies and are great for using with sensitive people and children. In fact, I often find myself using pink opal with children as much if not more often than rose quartz.
Opals are particularly good for people under emotional stress as their energy is very nurturing and supportive.
My favorite one to use is the beautiful Violet Flame Opal. This stone is amazing for transmuting negative emotions. So many people have hurt or anger or tension in relationships that they deal with on a daily basis. The Violet Flame Opal works to turn these negative emotions into higher emotions of love, forgiveness, and open-mindedness.

For most, just sitting with the stone for a bit and gazing into its color is enough to bring about a change in attitude. But when a more intense healing session is called for I will place:

  • a Black Tourmaline in the root chakra area for grounding
  • a Violet Flame Opal on both the Heart and Crown Chakras
  • On the Sacral, Solar Plexus, and Third Eye chakras I will place a double terminated Quartz point.

You could also place a Violet Flame Opal on the Third Eye chakra in place of the quartz point. I make that call on a case-by-case basis.
What is your go-to crystal for grounding?
With clients, I often end up using Hematite. Not always, but it is the one I feel called to most often.

For myself though, it’s definitely moss agate. I know that’s not a stone that many use for grounding purposes, but I think that is unfortunate because it is really amazing!

For me, it’s the second best thing to getting out in nature for bringing me back to earth and into balance.
I have a really big tumbled piece and I love to hold it and look into all the beautiful green and blue and white. It makes me feel so calm and connected to the Earth, and the appearance of the stone itself is amazingly Earth-like!

I’ve also always been drawn to Elementals. I think this is why it’s the best “grounder” for me because I definitely feel a big increase in Elemental energy around me whenever I use it and that is very soothing for me.
What 3 energy-work or spirituality books are you loving right now?
I am a huge fan of Rudolf Steiner. It would be hard to describe all the ways that his work has helped me to grow spiritually. A good first read for those who are unfamiliar with his work would be the book, “How to Know Higher Worlds“:

As for healing work, I have found “The Key to Self Liberation: 1,000 Diseases and Their Psychological Origins” by Christiane Beerlandt to be absolutely indispensable.

She goes into great detail about the underlying emotional issues behind each illness, which is extremely helpful when choosing the right stone or method for yourself or a client. And, I have never had an instance where she was incorrect about the underlying problem. I was fortunate enough to pick this book up about 3 years ago when it was only $35. However, it is now out of print and if you are lucky enough to find a copy you will pay a pretty penny for it. If you do find a copy though, its worth its weight in gold! Maybe if enough of us start asking, they will bring it back into circulation!

I am also really loving “Hands of Light” by Barbara Brennan. Its full of insights into the root emotional causes of illnesses and blockages and gives detailed guidance on healing techniques. If you like to use a pendulum on chakras, she also has an amazing guide on what the exact movements of the pendulum mean for the way in which the chakra is moving or blocked.

Finding Synergy with a Blend of Healing Practices

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healer, Crystal Healing, interview 7 Comments

Hey hey, Crystal Hottie!

We’re back with another “Crystal Healer Interview” today!

The Crystal Healer Interview blog posts are a SPECIAL series where some of our Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healers & Advanced Crystal Masters take over the blog. This allows me to bring crystal healing to you through the eyes of another.  I’m so deeply grateful to these inspiring individuals for generously sharing their stories with us.  I learn so much through them.

Today we’re going to meet Certified Crystal Healer, Carrie Hensley!

Carrie shares with us her love for Yoga, Ayurveda & Crystal Healing  + working her Dharma while integrating Eastern & Western Medicine. The beauty she brings to our world is truly inspiring. YES. Good stuffs!

And Here’s Carrie …

♥♥♥
What brought you to the world of crystal healing?
There were a few things.

First of all, I have been following Hibiscus Moon for about 5 years now. I appreciate her authenticity and scientific approach. I truly adore her passion and wisdom. It is evident that she lives and breathes crystals.

The other two things that brought me to the world of crystal healing were yoga and Ayurveda.

I have been teaching yoga for 18 years. From these two ancient traditions; dis-ease begins on the energetic or subtle body level. Crystal healing occurs at this energetic level.

The three practices of Crystal Healing, Yoga & Ayurveda work synchronistically. It has become another tool to offer my students in terms of empowered healing.
What crystal has had the biggest effect on you?
Hands down the crystal that has had the biggest effect on me is celestite.

My soul is so drawn to this stone that I have:

  • one that I use for clients
  • one for personal use
  • and a geode that I keep in my sacred space

What do others in your life think about the path you’re on?
I am fortunate that most of the people in my life are on a similar path. Many of us see the importance of integrative medicine, the marriage between Eastern & Western medicine.

It’s fascinating to think that it has been only since the 80s & 90s, with the work of incredible pioneering scientists like Dr. Bruce Lipton & Dr. Candace Pert, that we recognized the inter-connectivity of the immune, endocrine and nervous systems.
As we continue to face a health care crisis in the U.S., it is my sincere hope that we will continue to look towards alternative practices, like crystal healing, in terms of preventative medicine.
What is the primary way you utilize crystals in your practice?
Personally, I use crystals during my daily meditation practice. The meditation might be an overall chakra meditation with stones placed at each chakra or the meditation might be sitting with an aragonite cluster in each palm.

In my work with students and clients, I do the traditional Hibiscus Moon Method of crystal healing. I allow my intuition to guide me during the session as we work to clear and unblock the chakras, help alleviate any physical and emotional pain and help restore balance back to the body, mind & spirit.

What are your BIG DREAMS now that you’ve graduated?
My big picture vision has always been to help end world suffering, called Dukha in Sanskrit.

Currently, I design yoga programs for special needs populations, such as seniors, breast cancer patients and those suffering from anxiety, depression and addiction, by integrating Eastern & Western medicine. Moving forward, I will continue to design more of these programs and integrate crystal healing.

The other part of this is teaching yoga teachers how to integrate these crystal healing practices into their own teachings so that we continue to introduce other aspects of yoga and not just the postures; to educate others that disease occurs at the energetic level first.
What do you love most about working with crystals?
I see the difference the crystals make in my own life and in the lives of my students & clients. It is extremely empowering to take responsibility for your own health. I love to teach my students how they can integrate crystals into their lives, on a daily basis, mainly through the chakras.

What 3 energy-work or spirituality books are you loving right now?
I LOVE books!

My favorite 3 energy-work books currently are:

Yoga of the Subtle Body

This is a fantastic book to understand the physical and subtle anatomy of the body in terms of the yoga perspective.

Another favorite book is Energy Medicine

Finally, I love Creating on Purpose

One of the reasons I love all of these books is there are many exercises to reflect on and take inspired action to make a difference in our own lives.
Do you have any advice for anyone who is considering this path?
Do it!

The personal growth and awareness you will receive is worth it alone!
If you are called to being a conduit for healing, becoming a Certified Crystal Healer will provide countless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others.
I wish I would have done it years ago! That being said, I am grateful I finally made the investment in myself and my career.

Carrie’s Bio: I own an online yoga community and help women connect to their inner guru. My dharma (life’s purpose) is to teach women how to live on their terms and reclaim their intrinsic worth.  You can find Carrie at www.carriehensley.com

Unlock the Door to Non-Invasive Healing Modalities

Hibiscus Moon Crystal Healer, interview 11 Comments

Hi Crystal Hottie!

I’ve got another “Crystal Healer Interview” today!

And just in case you’re not familiar with what exactly is goin’ down here today…these Crystal Healer Interview blog posts are SPECIAL. Because these are the brave souls who are DOIN’ it! These are the Crystal Hottie Change Agents.

Allow me to introduce you to crystal healing from another perspective (other than my own). So we’ve got a few Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healers & Advanced Crystal Masters who are so generously sharing their stories with us.

Well, I’m excited today to introduce you to Hibiscus Moon Certified Crystal Healer Wendy Becerra of Wholistic Blessings.

Wendy’s gorgeous message here is about our responsibility as Crystal Healers to share the knowledge & spread the crystal light.

She talks about her lifelong connection with crystals and how that has grown & blossomed into a budding career in energy work.

And Here’s Wendy …

♥♥♥
What brought you to the world of crystal healing?
About 10 years ago, after much of life’s “craziness”, my hubby, son, kitty and I moved from Miami and a co-worker (in the pharmacy) gave me a pendant of larimar.

This larimar provided me with calm when I suffered from anxiety. Studying this crystal and others began to open the door more and more to this possibility of crystal healing.

While I lived in Miami’s fast pace and had an overflowing amount of family and family responsibility, I really had no time to study or do what I enjoyed.

Between collecting my crystal babies and going to the park I began to heal and feel more relaxed and better able to navigate thorough my new-found identify and life without everybody else’s stuff.

What crystal has had the biggest effect on you?
Oh this one’s kind of tough.

As with many healers, one of the first crystals I purchased was amethyst, citrine, carnelian and clear quartz.

I have a complete amethyst obsession! I can’t wait to have a Huge Amethyst Cathedral.

Moldavite has a special place in my heart because it really accelerated much spiritual and expanded awareness. The best part is I don’t feel overwhelmed by its energy. There have even been times I’ve even slept with it.

My double terminated smokey Tibetan quartz has shared so much information with me while I’ve meditated. I have seen our entire galaxy and have heard the message from the collective and “the bigger picture”. It’s an enhydro and that makes it even extra special to me.

What do you think made the biggest difference to you on this crystal-path?
The peace and serenity my family, friends, and I feel in our home. Everyone says they feel so cared for and relaxed when they’re in our home.

Also, when my son comes and asks for a “crystal massage” to help him relax…simply amazing!

When I realized there is a huge amount of healing power in crystals, I was drawn to crystal gridding before I even knew it was a “thing”. Then on December 2012, I was pulled to create crystal grid for the Collective’s healing every month on the full moon.

Once I became a Reiki practitioner 5 years ago, I discovered that I loved combining crystals and Reiki together!
I can’t tell you how satisfying and fulfilling it is to see the patient’s light come back or brighten in their eyes!!!
I live for seeing the lights come on and get brighter. It’s like they’ve been plugged in again.

The patients feel as thought they have “new life”. I believe that is what has made the BIGGEST difference in my life. I must add that after they’ve been plugged in, I get a sense of peace and feel “lifted” myself.
What’s your go-to Crystal for grounding?
My favorite would be a magnetite in each hand.

My other favorites are healer’s gold (pyrite with magnetite), black tourmaline and hematite.

I tend to be a bit “flighty” and I often forget to ground. So when I feel too “in the head” I re-calibrate and get “land legs” when I hold onto these. It feels as though I put on a pair of weighted boots.
What are your BIG DREAMS now that you’ve graduated as a CCH?
I want to build a successful, and loving Crystal Reiki practice preferably an office near my home or a space in my home especially for healing, which would enable me to be close to my son.

I see myself working and volunteering with 2 causes which are very important to me:

  • Clean water for everyone
  • Crystal healing with special needs children

My son has been diagnosed with high functioning autism and takes no medicine. So working with special needs and helping parents and caretakers know that there are alternative treatments and practices with a more natural and non-gmo diet can benefit their children greatly.

My BIGGEST DREAM is to travel in an RV so my son could experience travel in a comfortable way and be able to spread crystal healing knowledge while on our travels. I believe we are here to turn on each others flames and awareness to “be the change we wish to see in the world.”
It really is up to us to unlock and open the door to these non-invasive healing modalities.
Wendy’s Bio: After 21 years of working as a certified pharmacy tech and my son’s autism diagnosis, I went in the opposite direction for natural and alternative healing. As a facilitator and conduit of healing, I’m utterly passionate about empowering others (and myself) to be healthy, strong, in peace;  the very best version of themselves (and myself) as possible.
