Crystals For Mercury Retrograde

From the 25th of July to the 18th of August we’re in Mercury retrograde period. Meaning the planetary orbit of Mercury APPEARS to be going backward. Astrologically speaking, this is retrograde motion, and it’s known to affect us all energetically. Mercury is not the only planet that creates this illusion in the sky either. It is, however, one of the most popular planets to discuss when it comes to the subject retrograde motion.

Why is Mercury Retro a Thing?

Mercury is much closer to the Sun and has a smaller orbital cycle; resulting in about three Mercury retros a year, meaning it affects us more often than the other planets. So, in today’s blog, we’ll be looking at the best crystals for Mercury retrograde. Mercury is known to influence things like, communication, telecommunication, technology, travel, and generally anything that has to do with business. It clearly has a very mischievous influence over quite a lot of things.

However, you should also be careful not to put too much credence into all of this. Some people get so fearful and anxious over Mercury retrograde that they manifest a lot of their concerns into reality. My take on the matter is to heed the usual warnings by being aware of them but avoid worrying more than you need to.

Before I give you some crystals that we can use as tools and support during this time. I’d like to give you four things that I like to watch for when we’re in the Mercury retrograde period.

4 Things You Should Look For During Mercury Retrograde

No contracts

During Mercury retrograde, we’re supposed to avoid making any plans or new agreements that are considered binding. Avoid essential meetings or legally binding documents where something brand new is being initiated. For example, let’s say you’re starting a brand new business, launching a new product, or signing a lease to rent a new apartment for an extended period; I would recommend that you avoid those decisions or actions until the retrograde period has passed.

Clear Communication

Devote extra attention to communicating as clearly as possible. Don’t be afraid of people saying, “oh my gosh she’s so anal, or he’s so fastidious”; you’re doing exactly what you should be doing during this time. It doesn’t hurt to look for clarity, even outside of Mercury retrograde periods additional clarity is only ever going to help you. Don’t accept verbal promises or agreements be sure to get it in writing. Also, be sure to choose your words carefully because communication on your part can also get rather muddy during retrograde.

Be Extra Wary of All Technology

Everything you’re thinking right now, emails, texts, basically anything electronic. I noticed a lot of “message failed to send” notifications happening during Mercury retros for me. For lack of a more advanced term let ‘s just say things tends to glitch or freeze up excessively during retrograde. Case in point, I usually do my videos live every week on Facebook, and last week, Facebook decided to revoke my ability to do so. Which is OK it’s no big deal, you simply find another way to execute whatever it is that you had planned. Things generally just start to go haywire during this time. Make sure you’re taking the time to confirm that important messages or details did get where they needed to be.

Make Sure You’re on The Same Page

What you say and think, might not be received exactly how it should be. So make sure you double-check, even in face to face conversations that the message was communicated properly. A little earlier I mentioned how important it is for you to be articulating everything to the best of your ability. When I say “make sure you’re on the same page” I want you to confirm that the message was not just communicated but received properly as well. I know that things are misinterpreted all the time via email, text, and even in face to face conversations. So during Mercury retrograde, ask the other party if what you said made sense. Or if you’re on the receiving end double-check to make sure you understand the point someone is trying to make.

So do your best to keep these four things in mind during a retrograde period. To help myself stay cool calm and collected I remind myself of the big R-E, renew, relax, review; just review things in more detail and don’t rush into anything too quickly. Dot all your I’s and cross all your T’s, but don’t put anything into action just yet.

Finally, not to add something on top of the retrograde period but remember that we’re also smack dab in the middle of the eclipse season. I did discuss this eclipse season in great detail in a recent blog post.

The Best Crystals For Mercury Retrograde

Best Crystals For Mercury Retrograde

Emerald

Emerald is going to help promote smooth communication and assist you when it comes to organizing activities or plans. Also, let’s remember that it doesn’t need to be a very “fancy” emerald. It’s ok for it to be rough and jagged along the edges and surface. Emerald is very inexpensive when it’s not considered “jewelry quality”.

blue lace agate

Blue Lace Agate

This is a fairly easy one to find, it’s very affordable and abundantly available. Blue lace agate also helps promote clear and calm communication. Exactly what we need during Mercury retrograde. It’s also very good for the throat chakra, promotes good decision-making, and organization.

Fluorite

Any color variety of fluorite will work as well, it doesn’t need to be green or blue. You’ll find that fluorite comes in just about any color.

Amazonite & Aquamarine

The final crystals I would recommend working with act very much along the same lines. Amazonite and aquamarine work great with the throat chakra and are excellent for not only harmonizing communication but also promoting clear and articulate communication. Also, just like the emerald, these do not have to be beautiful gemstone quality by any means.
